A digipak is a type of packaging for albums, singles, or DVDs that became popular in the early 2000s. It consists of a book-style paperboard case with one or more plastic trays inside to hold a CD or DVD. Digipaks provide more visual appeal than standard cases but are more expensive to produce. While they don't crack like regular cases, the plastic trays can break over time and cause the disc to fall out. Digipaks are also more environmentally friendly than jewel cases due to using recycled paper materials.
