 King is the head of the government
 king is also called emperor and he
has the supreme power.
 the monarch may have small group
of people to discuss matters with,
 but the final decision making power
remains with the monarch
 king and queen do not have to
explain for their actions
Democratic Government
 democracy word originated from the Greek words means rule of the people
 In democracy people rule by themselves
 people elect their leaders to govern the nation
 The leaders or representatives takes decisions, make laws and care about the
citizen of the country
 government is answerable to the people for their actions.
 Democracy is also called the government which is made by the people, for the
people and of the people

women and the poor people were not
allowed to vote
 Gandhiji and some people were shocked
at the inequity of such practice
 they demanded the right to vote
Gandhiji in his journal stated
that it was unbelievable that a
man with wealth can vote but a
man with charater cannot

the poor have had to fight for
participation in government.
 Women’s struggle to vote got
strengthened during 1st world war and the
movement is called women’s suffrage
movement.
 American women got the right to vote
in 1920
 U.K. women got the right to vote in
