AFFINITY GROUP: WOMEN IN
ENGINEERING
IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is the largest international
professional organization dedicated to promoting women engineers
and scientists and inspiring girls around the world to follow their
academic interests to a career in engineering.

AFFINITY GROUP: YOUNG
PROFESSIONALS
The IEEE Egypt YP is an IEEE affinity group that resembles the Young
Professionals from all related engineering fields. IEEE Egypt YP was founded
in 2002, with a Focus on the Industry-University Link, SMEs and human &
entrepreneurial development in the engineering field.

THE EGYPTIAN ENGINEERING DAY
The Egyptian Engineering Day is the biggest
annual summit for students and engineers.
Every year around 150 - 200 projects
participate in the EED trying to implement
solutions for the most serious problems in
Egypt.

MADE IN EGYPT
The objective of the event aiming to providing undergraduate
students with an opportunity to connect with the real-world by
bridging the gap between the academic track and the industrial
track and to help undergraduate students to pick a graduation
project’s idea that meets the Egyptian market needs.

FUTURE CITY
With target on young students in their early educational stages, the Future
City competition comes into action. Aiming to raise the engineering sense in
the young students and raising team work skills among them, the FC
program tries to fulfill these goals through the program different aspects.

IEEE EGYPT SECTION
TECHNICAL CHAPTERS:
IEEE Egypt Section has about 14
technical chapters whose main function
is holding annual or bi-annual
conferences for engineering technical
fields for postgraduate engineers to be
updated with the latest engineering
accomplishments and to publish papers
to be judged by Egyptian and non-
Egyptian juries. Moreover, organizing
seminars & technical workshops.

SOCIETY CHAPTER: RAS
Disseminate the robotics and automation knowledge to students,
researchers and engineers through promoting and sponsoring
scientific activities in the area of robotics and automation.

STUDENT ENTERPRISE AWARD
The IEEE Student Enterprise Award provides financial help to Student
members who are looking to implement an idea for a project. It enables IEEE
Student members to work with others on an engineering project, while
simultaneously strengthening Student Branch programs.

REGIONAL EXEMPLARY STUDENT BRANCH
AWARD
To qualify for the award, a Student Branch must conform to IEEE bylaws,
have a active program, and support IEEE goals. Awards will be presented to
those Student Branches that are found to be operated in a manner
consistent with the goals of IEEE.

AWARD
The goal is to improve the quality of activities, and to foster knowledge
sharing among students. Ultimately, the initiative is targeted at improving

WEBSITE CONTEST
All IEEE Student Branches and Branch chapters are eligible for the Student
Branch Web Site contest. Each Student Branch may enter at most one Web
site, regardless of the number of Branch chapters present. AlexSB was the
winner for 2015

ERICSSON INNOVATION AWARDS
As part of IEEE industry collaboration with Ericsson , IEEE Egypt Section
introduced the Annual Ericsson Innovation Awards (EIA). Ericsson strongly
believes that everyone has the capacity to come up with a transformational
idea. First place team will win 25,000 EUROS

IEEE CUSB received a Certificate of Appreciation from ICECS for the branch efforts in organizing the
conference. The ICECS is International Conference on Electronics, Circuits, and Systems that was
held this year in Egypt.
