BE FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT
AND HOW DID YOU

MARKET RESEARCH
 We conducted market research to decipher who our
target audience would be, this research was conducted
using an online questionnaire.
Although most of the people who answered the
questionnaire were male, many females answered too.
Due to this we wanted to make our horror film more
female orientated due to this genre being very male
dominated.
TEENAGE AUDIENCE (15-20)
Using our research we decided that a teenage audience with an age
range of 15-20 would be appropriate for our genre and supernatural
storyline.
We included actors that fit the target audiences age range.
From prior research we decided our audience would fit into an urban
social group, we made sure our actors were dressed appropriately for
this audience.
FEMALE ANTAGONIST AND
PROTAGONIST
 Due to wanting to appeal more towards a female audience both our
Antagonist and Protagonist were female. We made sure that a female
audience would be able to relate to them easily. By including the
target audience in our film opening we hoped to attract an audience
of the same age.
Although we made sure our storyline still attracted a male audience
by including the common conventions of the horror genre, that we
know is male dominated.
MIDDLE CLASS SOCIAL GROUP
 From our research we also decided that this film would be
appropriate for a middle class audience.
We used the mise-en-scene and the storyline to appeal towards this
social group
The area and house the film is set in would be common of a middle
class family as it is a rural area and a large house
The storyline involved a young teenage girl coming back from
university, this is something a middle class audience would be able to
relate to
