Dawah, or inviting others to Islam, is an important religious duty in Islam according to numerous Quranic verses and hadiths. The Quran and hadiths establish that Islam is the perfect and complete religion, that prophets including Muhammad (peace be upon him) were sent to guide people to truth, and that following any religion other than Islam will lead to failure. Numerous hadiths also emphasize that dawah was the way of Muhammad and all Muslims, and that even successfully inviting one person makes contributing to dawah rewarding. The verses and hadiths collectively show that dawah should be done with wisdom, mercy, and in the best manner possible.
