Recently, in my high school class the teens and I went through a study of the first six chapters of
Daniel. As often happens when studying a Biblical character we began to feel as though we knew
Daniel personally. Through the text we were able to sympathize with his struggles, admiring his
character, and marvel at his ability to serve God no matter the political environment. Whether the king
said, Truly, your God is God of gods, or the king considered himself to be the god Daniel s work did

Stephen King s The Boogeyman was my favorite piece of gothic literature that we read. I was trying
to figure the story out all the way until the end and had to re read some of it to fully understand. It was
suspenseful, scary, but also had a good story to listen to. The Boogeyman was full of gloomy settings,
monsters, characters in distress, and intense emotions. These 4 things are just a couple elements that
make up gothic literature.
The first element of gothic literature that I noticed in The Boogeyman was the gloomy setting. The
way the man described his house was chilling. He made it sound cold, haunted, and all around gave
the house a bad vibe. He says, I heard a noise in there one night. And then she screamed. I opened the
door real quick the hall light was on and. . . she was sitting up in the crib crying and. . . something
moved. Back in the shadows, by the closet. Something slithered. Here he is talking about his own
daughter s room and how something was in there and he did nothing. I couldn t believe that, his own
child was in distress and he was too full of pride to admit to his wife that he wanted to protect or baby
their child. Her room was described as creepy enough without the monster. The gloomy setting helps

world. Approximately one out of every five Americans have a tattoo. The American Heritage Science
Dictionary defines a tattoo as a permanent mark or design made on the skin by a process of pricking
and ingraining an indelible pigment . Many individuals choose to utilize their own bodies as an artistic
medium to create visible bodily expressions of their inner selves. For many years, humans have used
tattoos to adorn their bodies for multiple reasons personal independence, religious beliefs, in
remembrance of a loved one, showing allegiance to a country, or gaining involvement in a social
organization, club or gang. Historically, tattoos date back over thousands of years and were created to
beautify, shock, humiliate, or narrate. Tattoos can vary by design, employing words, images, or a
combination of both. There are thousands of fonts to choose from, varying from basic to highly ornate.
Pictorial tattoos are chosen by an individual to represent a personal event, relationship or connection.
Tattoos vary in size, shape, and color, and can be very influential and meaningful. Aspects of the tattoo
depend on the preference of the individual. Two people could have the exact same tattoo, however, the
tattoo could mean something different to each individual. Often times, individuals even get matching

Obtain approximately 2.0g of small pieces of aluminum scrap. Place aluminum scrap into a 250ml

It was further shown that Aluminum oxidizes quickly and without much heat. Using 2.0 grams of
Aluminum foil, 60 ml of 1.5 M KOH, 40 ml of 9 M H2SO4, ethanol and heat the process of forming
Alum from the Aluminum foil was discovered. In the reaction the with KOH, the first reaction, a
gaseous reaction occurred producing hydrogen gas; therefore, the need to work under a fume was in
place. In the second, reaction using H2SO4, heat was a byproduct. So the need to allow the solution to
cool completely prior to adding H2SO4 was the necessity in that reaction. The major findings in this
experiment was that Aluminum has the ability to breakdown enough and in a useable form so much so
it can be made in to various other useful materials. The major phases in this experiment were to heat
up, cool off, put the solution in an ice bath, and then allow to dry. While in the heating up phase the
color changed to a black/grey color as the Aluminum reacted with the KOH. When cooling off the
solution it was a clear color due to the Aluminum being strained out. After adding the H2SO4 the
mixture s temperature heated up due to the reaction of the solution and the H2SO4. Then while in the
ice bath for about 29 minutes the clear solution turned a liquid white color. After the substance was
dried using a vacuum procedure a white powdered substance remained. The substance was allowed to

1. As part of the requirement gathering process, the team will interview some of the stakeholders,
executives, and other employees of the hospital. In addition to interviewing, questionnaires would be
handed out to the rest of the workers to find out what their needs are. After the interviews and
