"HR can adapt to change by throwing away the age old adage that the leader knows best and it’s only their way or the highway. I have observed that the birds have no command structure and they thrive. Ants solve challenges through complex strategies and interdependence, this shows that leadership is about building relationships and collaboration. I believe that as HR leaders, we can learn a lot from nature,” said Bertina Engelbrecht, Clicks Group Limited CEO, in her opening remarks at the 2025 HR Indaba. #HRIndaba2025

  • Students on the Go: Tackling Period Poverty on University Campuses The Clicks Helping Hand Trust (CHHT), in partnership with the MENstruation Foundation, is proud to share progress on CHHT’s Students on the Go Programme – an initiative providing free, high-quality sanitary pads via token-operated vending machines on South African campuses. Through the support of a R2 million donation from the CHHT, 30 vending machines are being installed across five universities. The vending machine launch took place at the University of the Western Cape during Women’s month, where 14 machines will benefit over 8 400 students. This initiative is projected to: ✅ Reach 16 300 women every month ✅ Provide 195 600 packs of sanitary pads annually ✅ Safeguard up to 978 000 potential learning days each year, by ensuring students don’t risk missing classes due to lack of access to sanitary products At UWC alone, more than 8 400 students will benefit each year. Together, let’s continue breaking down barriers to education and ensuring that no student’s future is limited by period poverty. 💙 🎥 Watch how Students on the Go is creating impact ↓ #StudentsOnTheGo #PeriodPoverty #ClicksHelpingHandTrust #EducationForAll #WomenEmpowerment
