  • Every disruption begins as uncertainty, until investors recognise the opportunity within it. That was the lens mark lovett, our head of investments, spoke through at the Ninety One IP Advisor Forum. Speaking on the topic ‘from stagnation to acceleration: lessons to navigate the next great disruption’ Mark drew on his own journey of analysing equities in the late 1980s when information was physical and scarce, to navigating each wave of technological change, and exploring how generative AI is rewriting the rules for investment managers. His lessons for investors: • Adopt early, adapt quickly: Technology is outpacing regulation and convention. Those who embrace it intelligently will gain the edge. • See opportunity, not just risk: Beyond the noise, AI unlocks efficiencies and growth paths traditional approaches can’t match. • Stay curious in volatility: Disruption brings turbulence, but it’s also where long-term value is created. He concluded that investors who see AI as possibility rather than disruption won’t merely keep pace, they’ll accelerate, shaping the next era of asset management through agility and vision.
