We are committed to building a food secure and sustainable South Africa. Through our food nutrition initiatives such as EduPlant, Plates4Days, and the Tiger Brands Foundation, we support communities in growing their own food, providing nutritious meals, and strengthening household food resilience. Since 2019, we have helped more than 1 800 schools establish sustainable food gardens through our school greening programme, EduPlant, equipping learners with essential skills in nutrition and permaculture, which in many cases they have transferred to surrounding communities. Plates4Days reaches more than 8 000 university students monthly, ensuring access to nutritious meals that support academic success and personal growth. While the Tiger Brands Foundation provides a daily nutritious breakfast to more than 55 000 learners at school located in the most food-insecure communities across the country. These programmes, alongside our broader environmental and social initiatives — from reducing emissions to promoting circular packaging — demonstrate that food security is achieved not by one organisation alone, but by many, working hand in hand for a better, sustainable future. #WorldFoodMonth #NourishAndNuture #WorldFoodDay

"We put both our people and our consumers at the center of everything we do. Every individual knows how their job links to the purpose of the organisation, how what they deliver makes a difference not only within the organisation or to our bottom line, but to the consumer out there," said Tiger Brands CPO S’ne Magagula during a panel discussion on "Where purpose meets profit: What makes your organisation different?" at HR Indaba 2025. #PurposeDriven #PeopleCentric #ConsumerFocus #EmployeeEngagement #MeaningfulWork #HRIndaba2025

Growing food security, skills, and resilience with EduPlant Tiger Brands, through its support of EduPlant, South Africa’s largest school greening and nutrition programme, implemented by Food & Trees for Africa, has supported over 1 200 schools across the country, establishing thriving food gardens that help improve food security in communities. EduPlant’s significant impact on learner education and nutrition was highlighted during a visit to one of the programme’s participating schools in Gauteng – Philip Kushlick School for children with special needs, based in Diepkloof, Soweto. Partners Tiger Brands and Food & Trees for Africa were joined by members from the Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, and the Gauteng Department of Education to commemorate the programme by planting trees at the school. At Philip Kushlick School learners not only benefit from the nutritious fresh produce they grow in their thriving garden, but the programme has also helped them build confidence and resilience through hands-on gardening. “Good nutrition is not a privilege, it is the foundation for dignity, growth, and opportunity. Through EduPlant, we are not only addressing immediate hunger but helping to restore hope and resilience for the future,” says Maanda Milubi, Director Enterprise and Supplier Development & Transformation. #GrowingFoodSecurity #EduPlantProgramme #PlantingHope
