Recently, we had the distinguished pleasure of hosting Mr. Robert Alobo, the director of the Pacuwa Development Initiative, hailing from Uganda. This meeting provided us with an invaluable opportunity to explore potential partnerships aimed at elevating agricultural practices in the region. Our discussions encompassed several key areas, including beekeeping and honey processing, greenhouse farming, and future agricultural funding for Pacuwa members. Beekeeping and Honey Processing Beekeeping presents a sustainable farming option that yields multiple benefits: it supports biodiversity, enhances crop pollination, and produces honey—a lucrative agricultural product. During our discussions, we explored how Pacuwa members could be trained in best practices for managing beehives and processing honey. Greenhouse Farming Another area of focus was greenhouse farming. Given the unpredictable weather patterns often faced in Uganda, greenhouse technology can provide a stable environment for growing a variety of crops. By introducing Pacuwa members to greenhouse farming techniques, we can help them maximize their yield and extend growing seasons. Our collaboration could involve setting up training programs where they learn about soil management, pest control, and the efficient use of resources. This knowledge transfer could significantly boost food production and enhance food security within their communities. Agricultural Funding We discussed the potential for future agricultural funding aimed at assisting Pacuwa members. This funding could be directed towards various aspects such as purchasing equipment, establishing farming infrastructure, or expanding into new markets. By working together, we can help structure funding opportunities that align with the specific needs of Pacuwa’s members, ultimately supporting their development goals. Collaboration with Zortrax Agriculture Corporation A key component of our partnership includes facilitating the registration of Pacuwa members with Zortrax. This collaboration will grant them access to unparalleled Zortrax agriculture corporation goods and services in Uganda. Zortrax’s innovative agricultural solutions will provide Pacuwa members with cutting-edge tools, enabling them to improve productivity and efficiency. The synergy between our organizations can result in substantial advancements for local agriculture, benefiting not only the farmers but also the broader community. All this is in bid to be an agricultural conglomerate in 2030 with 90 % countries penetration globally. Book an appointment with us in one of our global offices for more information ℹ️ on how we can be of assistance to your group of farmers in your country. Email: [email protected]

What you need to know about Cucumber farming by Zortrax Agriculture Corporation Cucumber farming involves growing cucumbers in a variety of conditions, including soil, water, temperature, and light. Cucumbers can be grown in greenhouses or in open fields. Soil Cucumbers grow best in deep, fertile, well-drained soils with a pH of 6–6.5. Soils should be rich in organic matter and warm. Cucumbers have shallow root systems, so they require a lot of fertilizer. Water Cucumbers need a constant supply of water, especially during the flowering and fruit development stages. Drip irrigation is often recommended. Temperature Cucumbers grow best in temperatures between 18–30°C. Plastic row covers can protect cucumbers from frost and control temperatures. Light Cucumbers need at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Cucumbers grow best in high light intensity. Pruning and training Cucumbers need frequent pruning to a single stem. Cucumbers need to be trained along vertical wires to maximize light and air movement. Pests High humidity can encourage downy mildew and other diseases.
