Standard Bank Group has appointed David Hodnett as Chief Executive Officer of the Standard Bank of South Africa (SBSA), the group’s largest subsidiary, effective pending regulatory approval. The move forms part of the bank’s long-term succession strategy, the lender announced on Monday. Hodnett, who currently serves as Group Chief Risk Officer and Head of Corporate Affairs, brings over 30 years of leadership experience in financial services, including senior roles at Absa and Barclays, before joining Standard Bank in 2019.
