I got some feedback from Crossbow. He likes it and says it "turned out good", but that one can see that the parts are "25 years old" (well, over 30 actually! 8)..

dont forget the prequel! Meat Krest On the chat I told the guys that now I can die in peace that this is released ;) love the Beavis and Butthead "storyline", and the wonderful parts, great job guys!

Glad y'all like it! ;-D Yeah, we *really* didn't tell anyone, Syndrom and me were the only ones on the party that knew, and we made Enno our only co-conspirator to make sure nothing would leak out of the orga team beforehand! ;-)

And well, I *was* busy with Performers, but also this! ;-D Was quite relieved though that there was not another massive Censor demo on top this time! 8)

You got me at Beavis & Butthead!
and then Crest releasing oldies goldies is pure "smörgåsbord" ;)
now was there an indication of some possible comback to these members?
That would revive the scenes to new heights where EVERY BODY IS BASICALLY BACK ;)
We came from the C64 scene...
we end in the C64 scene ;)
But WOW what a demo!! DK you kept it so much a secret so it totally caught everyone by surprice,
I thought you where busy with the Performers.

Everytime I watch it I feel like Butt-head in the last part : 'Yeah Baby!!!! Rock on!!'

It is very cool (uh huh huh) to see you guys back. At certain parts we agreed with Edhellon during the compo that we're most probably experiencing a community hallucination because that's not possible. I'm checkin' it at home and it is. Ace!

Well this was a nice prod! Nice music, long scrolltext at the end, magnificent copper splitter screen! Good vibes, one could say. The "beavis & butt-head" mark on every part is so stupid and funny.

I saw it live at X-2026, and the surprise was absolutely perfect! At that point i realized the anagram that was used for the demo --> ECM Tester --> Meet Crest !! That was a truly brilliant move, and everyone there was really excited to finally see a new Crest demo again! By the way, i really love this one! Thumbs up! :-)

What a lovely surprise this was! Thank you for getting it done and sharing! That 3D pic of B&B is kind of terrifying, haha.

The cartoon parts would make a good story demo on their own. The effects would make a very good demo on their own. Together they feel a bit disconnected and the whole presentation feels a bit slow. It does worth to sit through the whole thing tho. Oh yeah it does worth it.

jeez.. I suddenly only now realized:

ECM tester = meet crest. on the video tape you have to read it from left to right.

Syndrom & all, thanks for the difficult effort bringing this demo to life, and kudos for keeping the parts secret for so many years. I imagine you & Deekay had been asked for decades about Meet Crest and Xbow regularly (I know I tried), now it's a relief seeing it finally done. I'm also glad to see others like Maduplec in the credits. Some of these parts have some great spirit and uniqueness even today, loved watching it, an important memorability as with every Crest release.

I knew Crossbow was not coming back, or we would have had 7 sprites over FLI by now ;-). The first time you notice it's a crest demo is when you see the 'turn disk' font :-D. I love Crest and it's great to finally see these parts :-D

This would have been amazing when the parts where first made, but by looking at it you can figure it out quite quickly. (I'll send you a PM Deekay ;-))

That last part is really cool :-D Thanks for taking the effort to bring those parts back to life!

I'm kinda speechless. Many old fashioned great effect, and some that have still never been seen before. Awesome work guys, but sad to hear about Crossbow.

My hope is that Crossbow get one day the itch and make a comeback and he stays with the C64 scene. Thank you to The Syndrom for preserving this demo. I like this old school Crest demo!

My lesson is: beware when you're teasing Crossbow in your demo cause he may actually relese his own in the same compo!
It's really great to see these FXes and to be able to finally Meet Crest :)

Is this real or a dream? The actual, legendary Meet Crest that was announced back in the late 90's? This is gonna be interesting to watch.

Mixed feelings after watching it.

Respect for your effort in bringing these old parts to 2026.

Sad hearing Crossbow is staying inactive. So this is it!?

Xayne, remember 1988? Goldrush and Vision first time meeting at my place?

I love the multi split screen part with the keyboard control! Cutting edge oldschool demo effects!

...and the Monty Python preview is ... something completely different!

Thanks for this timetravel !!!
