| Regarding oct(o) = 8: I actually learned this through a Language Transfer course - which is btw fantastic for learning languages. The early Roman calendar had only ten months, starting in March (=1) and ending in December (=10), so October was indeed the eighth month. Later reforms added January and February at the beginning of the year, but the old month names stayed the same. |

| I don't have time (or energy) to comment on the productions from this party, but I can say one thing: this must last until the end of the world and one day longer. It was nice to take a breather again and meet all these crazy people again. |
User Comment Submitted by Falcon on 14 June 2026
| Last time i attended a C64 party was the Silicon LTD winter party in '91. This year i also attend X'2026 and it was really great! Met a lot of friends i didn't see for 35 years. Also a big shout out to the organizers which really did a great job! |
User Comment Submitted by Worrior1 on 13 June 2026
| I attended X Party for the first time. The experience was amazing, including the Finnish travel company, the party organization, the food and drinks, the party venue, the atmosphere and the amazing competition entries. It was really nice to meet old demo group friends from years ago and legends that I have only known through their releases, live for the first time. We also visited the HomeComputerMuseum in Helmond, which is definitely worth a visit. |

| Second time for me and wow, what a great event. Super nice to meet so many new (and extremely talented...) people. Huge thanks to the organisers, you are doing this to such a wonderful experience for all of us! |
User Comment Submitted by Case on 13 June 2026
| Wow, what a great weekend. Meeting so many friends again and a huge thank you to everyone who signed my shirt. I might have to get a larger one for X'28. Who knows. |
User Comment Submitted by Jetboy on 11 June 2026
A little comment from first time visitor. The handles printed on the identifiers could be a little bit bigger. When one does know everybody for years it does not matter, but when everybody is new to one, one really needs to read that. Our eyes are not getting better with time, it only adds to the problem :)
Except that organization was excellent. Big thank you to organizers, attendants and contenders! That was great weekend! |

| X organisers, you are heroes, all of you! Thank you for another excellent party - I do not take your hard work for granted. See you next time! |
User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 10 June 2026
to visitors not listed on the attendants list here, you can add yourself on your personal scener page.
about fixing the compos, yes, this is correct now. but the aka for Robot - Not Human should say "Onefile Award Winner at X'26" :) |
User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 9 June 2026
| +1 for putting those entries back into one compo category - separating them does not represent how they were presented and what was voted for |
User Comment Submitted by spider-j on 9 June 2026
| Everyone should just make up some competition where they are #1. Or even better let AI make them up. Because the sole purpose of this database is to make you feel good. Just enter any shit you like and lock the entry :-) |
User Comment Submitted by The Sarge on 9 June 2026
Thank you all for a great party! Especially to the organisers for putting on a great show!
Next time I will have to remember to keep my voice shut when the mic is on getting question of I like standing on the stage. :D |
User Comment Submitted by Sentinel on 9 June 2026
| I see it the same way as Kal_123. If there wasn't a separate competition category for "one-file" demos, all entries should be listed in the category where they originally competed. Otherwise, it would be unfair to the other one-file entries. As a co-organizer of the EXAC 2020 party, I also experienced the downsides of having too few competition categories; however, it never occurred to us to separate everything retroactively. Perhaps in this case, it would help to note the one-file winner in the "aka" field. In my opinion, a 6th-place entry shouldn't be left out of the demo competition. |
User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 9 June 2026
| I didn't mean, to start a big discussion here, about this thing, I just noticed, that 6th place in the demo-competition is missing, so I was wondering about that, which is only natural, when one place is missing. My two cents on the matter is this. If these demos competed directly against the others, at the demoparty and weren't separated into a different group there, they should simply be classified here according to the rankings they actually achieved there, on X'2026. If there had been a dedicated competition for onefiler-demos at the party, I would naturally place them in their own category here, but that wasn't the case. Just my 2 cents. :-) |
User Comment Submitted by Elder0010 on 9 June 2026
@WVL: when I saw that Robot - Not Human was listed as #01 in another category I moved Traveller as #03 there as well, but on a second thought I reverted is as it was to avoid drama.
I would be happy to have the one filers listed separately, but then every one filer (not just the winner) should be listed in the 64K compo. opinions? |
User Comment Submitted by WVL on 9 June 2026
@KAL_123 There is no onefile demo compo at X, only the normal demo compo. There is however a special award for the best onefile demo that was in the demo compo. I'm guessing Cycleburner (or whoever added Robot-not human) to CSDb decided it was better to place it in a onefile compo instead, to show that it got the special 'best onefile award'. But now ofcourse the 6th place in the democompo is empty.. I don't think it's possible to put a production into 2 competitions in CSDb, which would solve this I think..
The same holds for 'Traveller'. In 2024 'Layers' won the onefile award and was placed in the normal demo competition results.
My 2cts : it would be better to put these onefilers in the normal demo competition results. |
User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 9 June 2026
| One thing isn't quite clear to me, as I noticed, that the 6th-place entry in the demo-category is still missing. Did the demo "Robot - not human" compete in a separate 64k demo-competition (as listed here in the linked files list), or did it take 6th place in the standard demo-competition (as shown in the list below)? |
User Comment Submitted by Raistlin on 8 June 2026
| @burglar .. sorry, I didn't mean it in that way .. I was hoping Censor, Bonzai, Booze etc would be in a fight with Performers for the big 3-4 side demos, that was all. I think I'm probably forgetting that X2023 came after a 5-year hiatus (for X) due to COVID - so it had a mad number of big/huge demos. Sorry if I offended. |
User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 8 June 2026
| @Sentinel, in the uploadform a workstages.zip file could have been uploaded, it's also explained there in text. The entry itself must be a single prg, so its extracted from the d64 and the correct prg is selected by the uploader. |
User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 8 June 2026
@viscid, yes we will provide the files soon. I want to include a working version of Shogoon's tune and add a note in the results.txt
so bare with me :)
@raistlin, 28 demos not enough? what a weird thing to say. I think it's incredibly healthy that a lot of groups made regular size entries and loads of excellent onefilers too.
It made the entire compo very entertaining and diverse. Decreases burnout rate too :) |
User Comment Submitted by Zierliches Püppchen on 8 June 2026
| As always, a super relaxed party, a great atmosphere, and lots of familiar faces. Thanks a lot, I’d love to come again next time. You got everything right. Thanks to the team, nice entrys. |
User Comment Submitted by Raistlin on 8 June 2026
User Comment Submitted by Viscid on 8 June 2026
| Is there a link to the whole stuff, zipped together? |
User Comment Submitted by Sentinel on 8 June 2026
| @Raistlin: We added 10 workstages as selfstarting files to the submitted d64 and wrote this as comment, which was shown at the presentation. We haven't seen where to upload workstages only at X. These 10 out of a lot more are attached in the d64 also here, but this was written in a comment in the entry too. Perhaps showing workstages before or after the picture next time would be a good idea, like I know it from Revision for example. |
User Comment Submitted by Raistlin on 8 June 2026
Some nice prods released this year! It didn't feel like a usual year, again, with Bonzai, Censor and others without big demos, but some great demos still made it through.
On the graphics front, I have to ask.. were workstages provided? It would be great to see those. |
User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 7 June 2026

As people might have missed it in the forum:
I will bring my Joystick Reanimator v1.2 (Thanks, GI-Joe, for selling me one!) to the party. So, if you think you have joysticks suffering from an oxidation layer, bring them along and find me or Bugjam and we will try to get it back in shape. |

The C64 Extended Compo has just been announced on https://xparty.net/
This is a new compo for C64 related productions that do not fit in the other compos due to hardware constraints. It's a bit like a Wild Compo, but focused around the C64 itself. |

User Comment Submitted by El Jefe on 11 February 2025
I always thought to remember that the first X parties I visited in the 90s took place in spring and not in autumn.
Just checked and infact the party took place from 95-97 in April and was moved to a slot in october from 1998 on. So, labeling the party as "X" due to the party taking place in October is very unprobable.
That said, I dont care if April, June or October, same here, Ill try to be there! |
User Comment Submitted by TheRyk on 11 February 2025
JUNE! FFS :D LOL
I had the idea it was called X due to Roman No.s which would mean roughly October ^^
No matter what/when/why,
if I'm alive and bloody hell's not about to freeze in some way,
