Hi
We have a sematic model using Direct Lake to the lakehouse. I have a need to create multiple alias tables to build in persona fucntionality. These alias tables are created in the same lakehouse using shortcuts to existing table (Person, Team).
The problem I face - is the moment I introduce one of these shortcut tables to my semantic model, it appears to break ALL joins within the model. This happens before I even use the table and join it to anything else. The model itself looks fine, but any reports based off this report back nothing. Data is there, but any dimensional data added the visual basically breaks it (as if there joins dont exist).
Anyone had any experience with this?
Thanks
Neil

Hi @NEJO ,
Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Fabric Community Forum!
This is a known limitation with shortcut tables in Direct Lake mode. Even just adding a shortcut (like a Person alias) may break relationships in your model, causing visuals to return no data. This might happens if your environment is not enrolled in the OneLake security early access, which is required for shortcut support. As a workaround, creating physical copies in the Lakehouse. Refer the links here for information:
