PBI reports change dynamically based on user preference

Hi,

I have a large SQL table which looks like below and associated tables. I have provided a dashboard having 6 reports for different aspects for prod type A. Now my user wants the same set of reports for another prod type. He might want more in future. I read on using parameters. However, I am not quite sure if that is the best method to so that? Also please provide links to good tutorials.

 Thanks. The Dashboard has 6 reports. I can't ask the user to select type 6 times. He might select Type A in one report and still look at the figures for Type B in another report.

Hi @luckygirl ,

1. Add a ProdType slicer and synchronize it only across report pages where users need consistent selections. Avoid syncing to pages requiring different ProdType selections.
2. Create a dynamic parameter for ProdType and use it in queries within DirectQuery or Power Query mode. Filtering the dataset at the source level is recommended to enhance load times.
3. If users frequently switch between ProdTypes, set up bookmarks with preset selections and add buttons for easy toggling between these bookmarks.

If they are going to be same, why not have all products add a product filter to the report page?
