It was an honor to present our joint engineering Proof of Concept (POC) with BMW at the auto motor und sport Congress 2025 in Stuttgart. On stage, Dr. Julien Hohenstein VP R&D Process & Digitalization at BMW Group, and Andreas Geiss VP Industrial & Retail at Aleph Alpha showcased how sovereign AI is driving efficiency and speed in the automotive industry. BMW is convinced that maintaining competitiveness requires rethinking how engineering is done. And we know: AI is only as effective as its understanding of the industrial domain. Modern Systems Engineering aims to seamlessly integrate disciplines like hardware, software and E/E by creating a shared, system-oriented understanding of functional chains. Today, building these chains involves extensive manual effort, where experts have to model connections based on their internal knowledge. In our POC with BMW, we’re taking concrete steps to accelerate this process using AI: - Our models help link requirements (e.g., specifications) with system functions, reducing manual workload and enabling scalable engineering. - We’ve achieved a strong acceptance among BMW engineers and a semantic match rate of over 70%.
