Changing the visibility of your organization's dependency insights

You can allow all organization members to view dependency insights for your organization or limit viewing to organization owners.

Important

Dependency insights is in maintenance mode. It won't receive new features or improvements, and it may show incomplete data for organizations that use dependency submission. For dependency analysis across your organization, GitHub recommends the GitHub SBOM Toolkit.

Organization owners can set limitations for viewing organization dependency insights. All members of an organization can view organization dependency insights by default.

Enterprise owners can set limitations for viewing organization dependency insights on all organizations in your enterprise account. For more information, see Enforcing policies for code security and analysis for your enterprise.

  1. In the upper-right corner of GitHub, click your profile picture, then click Organizations.

  2. Select an organization by clicking on it.

  3. Under your organization name, click Settings. If you cannot see the "Settings" tab, select the dropdown menu, then click Settings.

  4. In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Member privileges.

  5. Under "Member organization permissions", select or deselect Allow members to view dependency insights.

  6. Click Save.
