Vote for Deletion[edit]

Self-promotional page created by the WAD author. WAD itself doesn't seem very notable; searching even its full title results in results for a TV show and a heavy metal cruise but absolutely nothing for the WAD. Not notable enough for inclusion especially when added by its creator, so I think it and all related pages should go. --Grapes (talk) 03:07, 13 April 2026 (CDT)

Delete. The WAD includes quite a lot (didn't do an exact inventory) of levels created by notable mappers like Mark Klem, franckFRAG, DocBob, Hirogen2, Opulent, Memfis, et al. That alone makes a recycled compilation in IWAD form unnotable (for the record, I think similar compilations Heroes/Heroes 2 are also not very notable, but those were created long before I joined on the wiki). Additionally, there is no stable release as required by the guidelines. Leadsoldier's post history on Doomworld is littered with deleted posts about minor updates to this project; Leadsoldier ignored good advice to pick a different name and avoid confusion with the well-respected Hellbound; and, as DoomGappy observes, just "seem(s) to be very unaware about many of the workings of the doom community". That is proven by Leadsoldier behavior here, by plowing on after ignoring a neutral hint. Thus I don't believe there's a place on the wiki for this mod and, by extension, the articles and files created/uploaded in relation to it. --Xymph (talk) 08:53, 13 April 2026 (CDT)
Delete. I agree with what Grapes and Xymph said. I wasn't even able to view maps as in the zip that I've downloaded there isn't even a WAD file, just a mess of lumps. And the mod was renamed one more time 2 hours ago, now it's called HellRoad (lol). It is just a mess of stuff snatched from various places with some content added by the creator. The borrowed stuff isn't even properly credited, only the names of mappers and titles of projects are provided with no clear description of what was taken exactly and from there. So it is a non-notable mod with dubious legal status, therefore it should be removed from the wiki ASAP. EDIT: The ENDOOM lump inside the hyena.zip (codename HYENA killermachine WAD, from there a lot of graphics was borrowed) clearly states that other people "MAY NOT use ANY of the graphics made by us to make ANYTHING without our permission" and I doubt that such permission was obtained, so it is an obvious copyright violation case. --Nockson (talk) 14:36, 13 April 2026 (CDT)
"The borrowed stuff isn't even properly credited, only the names of mappers and titles of projects are provided with no clear description of what was taken exactly and from there." To be fair, CREDITS.txt includes (what appear to be) all original map text files. But I haven't examined them for possible re-use conflicts. --Xymph (talk) 16:25, 13 April 2026 (CDT)
There are 29 maps' text files listed there. Two of them allow only redestribution and not modification (mash.wad and nucwaste.wad) and one requires permission for modification and I doubt that it was actually acquired (nowhere.wad). And I don't think that edited IWAD resources (recolored textures and such) can be distributed under GPL. I will do more research and post on DW in one of dozens project threads as copyright violation is bad. --Nockson (talk) 08:30, 14 April 2026 (CDT)
Delete. As above. --Grapes (talk) 22:01, 13 April 2026 (CDT)
Delete as per above, also worth noting that the project is no longer on Doomworld and the author has been banned due to sockpuppeting and dishonest advertisement. --Dynamo128 (talk) 09:57, 15 April 2026 (CDT)
Delete. The entire reason this even exists here is because its author made the decision to be holier-than-thou just because they produced a WAD. And its not even theirs. I also don't really care if this is a young user or someone being deliberately mischievous - Too many warning flags were given and the author's sole response has been of evasion and saying they make mistakes. You can make too many mistakes, in turn you will be introduced to the concept of consequences - Something which i will enforce after the guidelines are met. --Redneckerz (talk) 14:52, 16 April 2026 (CDT)
I'm very sorry about my game, that really wasn't my intention. I'm not a child, and I just deleted everything in Doomworld because I was always indecisive. My intention wasn't to give evasive answers, and yes, I can make mistakes, and I'm always ready to face the consequences. If you received a message before this, unfortunately, a friend wrote it. I just went to the toilet for two minutes, and I think he wants me banned. I apologize on his behalf as well. You can be sure the file belongs to me. Im very sorry. -Leadsoldier (talk) 15:06, 07 May 2026 (CDT)
