My name is Jimmy and I am a Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience developing applications and platforms at enterprise companies like Capital One, Amazon Web Services, and Charter Communications.
I spend most of my time developing backend services for distributed systems hosted in the cloud with a focus on big data computing and analysis. I like to write backend services in Python, Java, TypeScript, and Go (although I thoroughly enjoy learning new languages). I enjoy developing frontend applications as well with React and Next.JS. I am also quite familiar with and fond of Terraform for infrastucture management.
I'm an avid hobbyist and often working on a few side projects at a time. I like to write services/applications that I use in my day-to-day life or projects for educational purposes. I'm always on the lookout for new open-source codebases and opportunities to contribute; I am keen to collaborate with other developers looking to build something 🔨
Aside from computer science and engineering, I am an avid music listener, amateur guitar player, and a frequent rock climber. Most of the side projects I undertake tend to deal with one of my interests :)
