How does the game fit the theme?
You press your luck by playing Blackjack in the first phase of the game. Your ship moves by whatever your cards add up to, UNLESS you go over 21. Then you don't move at all.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The audio--both the BGM and SFX. They're credited in the About page of the game which can be located through the About button on the Title screen.

I'm not very familiar card games, but I really liked how intuitive this game is! Though the graphics are a bit jank, it really does fit the pirate vibe this has going. Really great job!

Sure is innovative with cool visuals and audio. Good work.

Pupupupupupuprururururpupupupuurururururuu. Loved the music, also the boats are really cute!

Nice concept 👍 I liked the way the boats were animated.
Areas for improvement: I found this game to be a little bit short and I felt it missed a strategic aspect to it. Like there is no incentive to try to get a better hand since you can reach the end with relatively small hands.

Yeah, there's a huge incentive to not busting as well as banking on the bot players to not get ahead of you. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for playing! We definitely relied hard on people already being familiar with Blackjack, so if you’ve never played it before you’re definitely at a disadvantage, which is something we should improve. I’m super glad you were able to figure it out though, thank you for the kind words!

Had a lot of fun with the puppet show style art. I never thought about it, but making a submission using black jack is a really great idea. I think using it as a point system made for a fun fast pace game that fit the theme really well.

I appreciate the puppet show esthetic of the boats^^

A wild spin on blackjack! I lost a lot at first with all the risky moves (which fit perfectly with the jam's theme), but once I got strategic, I sailed to victory into the new world!

Thank you for the kind words! The game definitely takes a lot of luck, you really can’t afford to bust! Glad to hear you enjoyed it enough to play it a few times!
