Very nice experience, I really dig what you did with secrets and visuals.
It was a pleasant game to play, and figuring out all the secrets was an icing on the cake. I started to get the idea of your RPS system closer to the end of the game, when I saw all the enemy types I think.
Crawling was nice and I enjoyed it, here’s my play-through:
Thanks for playing and recording! I’d love to hear what bothered you about the movement queueing, it’s probably one of the parts I spent the most time on but it’s so hard to get just right.
Cheers
Solid crawler game, like the graphics and roguelike style tick-based combat. I struggled a little bit to figure out combat, died a few times but managed to beat the game. It takes some time+trial&error. I think the torch puzzles are used too much and they can become boring after a while. I spent 10 mins to solve a puzzle just to get a health potion. I think the theme of the jam is incorporated very well. As Damien De mentioned, i didn't like to play it on a small window with a 2k screen. The UI goes haywire when you maximize the window bcs the canvas is not scaled with screen size. Other than that i enjoyed the game. Well done!
Thanks for playing, and the providing the feedback! A lot of things to learn for next time. The puzzles being repetitive and the combat being poorly explained are definitely things to address, but the game not respecting larger resolutions (or being web-playable) are probably the most critical flaws to remember for the next jam.
Thanks again!
Damn, I could not play your game for to long, as I had problems with the scaling of the window. The UI border was scaling correctly, but not the 3d view. And on my 4k screen, the view was just to small. BUT, the game looks very good. Your homemande graphics are impressive, so cute and full of life…well maybe not the liches ;) The battle system seems to be a nice idea, but I could not make full use of it, as the icons were not very readable with the scaling issues. I wish you had a web version, so many more people would check the game out.
15 minutes later…I watched the video of captain coder and yeah, game checks out, really good!
Edit: The movement felt great, I think the best of this jam?
Thanks so much for checking it out! I’m sorry about the lack of resizing and HD scaling, after a bit of struggling I can mostly get Godot UI elements to resize properly but for some reason the 3D viewport just would not cooperate. With less than an hour to the deadline, we just had to ship with a fixed window size ;_;
Really should have made a web version, but simply ran out of time to export it at the end! Lessons learned for the next jam at least.
Also thanks for the kind words on the movement, spent a lot of time trying to get it to feel right and very glad that paid off! I think the only feature I’d have liked to add would be cancelling queued movements on being hit by an enemy or trying to turn.
Sorry it took me so long to get around to playing yours, love it tho, esp the slimes!
Oh there is no need to apologise, lots of time left and there are so. Many. Games.
A good problem, but it is a problem. Thank you so much for playing!
Fun quick game!
I liked the torch puzzles very much, The dungeon was nice looking and fun to explore. Maybe lacking in music, but sfx is spot on and rest feels good.
Good job
Thank you so much, and I’m glad you enjoyed the torch puzzles!
Hoping to revisit the music and add more sound effects after the jam.
I love the dorky little slimes. Love them to death. Also got all the secrets! I got confused at the start on how to change who's attacking and defending until I noticed the little buttons below the portraits. I think having the same attack and defense types on the same slime seems mismatched though, currently its a no-brainer to set the defense to match the one you're battling against, and the attack to whatever (should be the blue slime, the only healer). If it's like the red slime strong against mages offensively and against physical attacks defensively, I think the battle would be more interesting. It's a great battle system, though!
Thank you! I love them too, they’re precious. Great job getting all the secrets, and on working out the completely unexplained combat system.
Weirdly, I thought I’d built the system with too strong a focus on offense. I do agree that some kind of split advantage/disadvantage or subtyping to make the decision less straightforward would be nice though.
Thanks for the detailed feedback and playing through to the end!
At first I set them on offense too but I took too much damage. Then I tried setting them on defense. Also I noticed longer combat means more skill triggers.
This was super cool! The visuals are fantastic. I especially loved the battle system, all the slimes had cool characterization with their mechanics, setting them up for battle and using their unique abilities with their trait meters was so cool.
I’m so glad the battle system went well, it was a bit of a hail mary on the second-to-last day of the jam. We wanted a rock-paper-scissors system but were not sure on the implementation until it was nearly too late.
The slimes are so cute, I can say that as I made none of them <3
Thanks so much for playing!
The puzzles are great in this one! Granted I only solved most of the light puzzles by smashing my head against the wall and trying every combination I could, but I enjoyed doing so.
It took me so much longer than I'm willing to admit before I realised that I needed to switch defence depending on enemy type, I was just brute forcing for ages and spending most of the time hunting for potions, oops!
All in all it's a really nice game. The perspective is great, and while the tiles are pretty small, it worked well. I had a lot of fun, thank you.
Aww thank you for playing! We’ve been thinking about how to make it more clear when you have advantage/disadvantage against the thing you’re fighting, maybe colours in the combat log or floating damage numbers… it’s definitely something that has come up a lot.
Thanks for the great feedback!
love the visuals, blobs are funni, i love the combat, overall it's very very good!
Thank you! I love what you’ve done with the cardboard so hearing that you liked the visuals means a lot, cheers for playing!
I really liked the environment and sprite work in this! It took me longer than it should have to figure out the combat, but that's on me. haha. Really solid submission! Good work! :)
Thank you! We spent the most time on the sprites and environment and the least on the UI and attempting to explain any systems, and this does show. Hoping to work on it a bit more after the jam concludes and smooth out some of those rough edges.
Goodness! This game was fantastic (even if I had to switch my screen resolution from 4k to 1080p). Sprites were phenomenal, environments were well thought out, and the combat mechanic was not too difficult to figure out.
Overall a fantastic experience!
Thank you for creating and sharing this with us!

Thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts, lot of great feedback!
(not least supporting actual modern resolutions, that’s on me for not working out scalable viewports in Godot in time to support window resizing)
Very cute! The dungeon was nice looking and it was nice to play. I couldn't find how to open that door with the weird looking stone... But the lich was restored. Nice game. The slimes looks a bit cousin of this : https://hephep.itch.io/hephep-fever-retold
Thank you so much for playing and getting to the end! And my word these Hephep Fever Retold sea elephants are super cute <3
I restored the lich.
I greatly enjoyed the game. The game looks great, feels great to control with a fun combat system and as someone who appreciates secrets in dungeons you can guess that I thought the dungeon here was awesome, especially as you're not flooded with extra health so the rewards are no luxury and then all the more satisfying to uncover.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the little secrets, wish we’d had more time to implement more of them - and the planned third level. Game jam planning is really hard, it turns out…
I love the visuals, the dungeons look amazing. It took me a few tries but I did eventually restore the Lich in the end.
Thank you for playing and persevering! A minimap or some stronger guidance probably would help with the difficulty, along with tutorial hints.
