Very ingenious design! Even if the UI wasn't the most intuitive, the whole premise of adjusting delays is excellent. Beautiful presentation too, congrats!

thank you for playing!

Your game looks really beautiful, but unfortunately the controls didn’t work for me — only Space worked, though that was probably on my  side.

Developer

thank you for playing… hmm, you should be able to use the arrow keys to select the controls on the top, after the rabbit dies the first time. (i.e. the game doesn’t allow you to move the character)….

Thanks!!!

Awesome game! Honestly, if nothing else, I just wish there was more. It ended right around the time I was getting super invested.

The UI took a second to understand. In particular, I hadn't realized that I was supposed to be paying attention to the upper left, and selecting the clock. Additionally, in the first level, the un-selected play/clock sprites looked somewhat similar (with a darker outline) as the selected ones, so I had a little confusion parsing that. Part of me wants to suggest that you should just be going into time selection automatically after every death (since I assume after failure, the player would want to adjust those anyway), but I can also understand if the intention is for the player to navigate that themselves. Still very fun as a whole.

The art and especially the music are both fantastic. The little romantic jingle with the two birds fits the classic toon vibe impeccably. It's a small but brilliant touch, and I feel that it shouldn't go unrecognized.

Developer

thank you for playing and the feedback. we would have loved to add more scenes, but ran out of time. regarding the UI, maybe adding the timer dials just above the characters would have made it more obvious, and maybe write delay by X seconds as a tool tip or something.

Once I understood what I actually had to do with the clock the game was really great. The artwork is amazing and the audio fits it really well. Also different from many other games gameplay wise, I just wish it was longer.

It seems you used godot for this if I'm not mistaken, the game pops up in a seperate screen. That is usually because you enable SharedArrayBuffer support, which is not necessary anymore in current Godot versions. Just in case you didnt know :)

thanks for playing and the kind words.

oh. on a chromium browser this doesn’t happen, I think just firefox. but I didn’t know about the SharedArrayBuffer, let me try. thanks!

I found this game really interesting because I've never played anything like it! The graphics were good, and the game is easy to understand once you get going. I thought the game was really cute overall. Good job!

thank you for playing.

Solid demo! A competent take on the level-modification puzzle game. I like that the animal sprites are a bit more grounded and realistic; it adds well to the bittersweet tone.

Fantastic! Great work!

[EDIT]: Actually, I feel compelled to recommend the jam entry "Today's a Bad Day" to you. It's also a cool level-modification puzzle game, so you might particularly enjoy seeing their execution of the concept!

Thank you for the shout-out!

Pretty great but setting the frog timer to 2 at the start is a bug I think!

Developer(+1)

yes, you are right. this is a bit unfortunate. (you can stop and rewind, but I think that the rabbit should jump over the frog nevertheless; or gets poisoned :-) )

The humor is absolutely hilarious! On top of that, the mechanics are really fresh and have TONS of potential. The graphics are also very beautiful, congratulations!

Thank you for playing. Glad you liked it.

poor bunny hahaha interesting game!!

Very interesting idea and nice graphics!

It is a little frustrating though having to redo things you already solved. Something like checkpoints would be really nice.

Developer

thanks. that is true. the idea was that we had more complex puzzles where things happening at the beginning would influence later events… but a replay from checkpoint would help certainly.

interesting little demo! really charming and simple graphics too, I especially like how the rain effect was pulled off.

An excellent demo that could easily turn into much larger puzzles with more inter-connected interactions.

Since the later interactions only happen after several seconds, it would be nice to have some kind of fast-forward option for testing after trying a guess or two.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing. Yes, that’s a good idea.

Interesting premise, tweaking initial conditions to change the outcome for the rabbit.  I think it ends up being a bit too much guess and check, but I enjoyed the presentation.  The art and sound are effective to get you to want to keep trying.  Nice job!

Developer

thank you for playing. yes, I think the small form factor makes it difficult to show more complex interactions (of course, in my mind I imagined “final destination” like mishaps :-) )

very cool concept and a fun playthrough. I was worried the levels might be frustrating but I think i got the gist of it quick enough. I think the controls were hard to learn at first so might be something to think about

Developer

Thank you for playing. I agree the UI navigation is a bit a hassle. Maybe make the configuration step more prominent and not on “hidden” behind the clock button.

Is a little complex to understand how the numbers impact the game. Nice entry!

Developer

thank you for playing. yes. I initial had it more verbose, eg: “start delay: 2 seconds”…. but then i removed it due to space constraints. maybe show an explicit clock above the actors while playing would make it more understandable.

Took me a while to get to grips with the time mechanic, but managed to get a few steps in. Very quirky gameplay - enjoyed it!
