Actually, it's mostly reading the docs and then a lot of trial and error. Once I get the general idea on how to do something, I share a tutorial on it :)

Like you said, some things may be a bit too complicated to understand with only docs. At times like these, I simply skip the topic and return to it once I know Defold better and hoping this time I will get it

I reuploaded the tutorial with a simpler way so no need for baking anymore. I shared a simple Blender Script that will extract the textures and solid colors.

And, no. As this was a model I found online, I did not do the animations myself :)

I developed the game when I first started learning Godot for practice. Originality was not my goal with it. If I ever try expanding on it, I will remember your suggestion :)

Cool Stride game! Is the bird 2D or 3D?

Then, you can add an additional check for controllers like: if action.gamepad == 0 or if action.gamepad == 1 etc.

That was a fun game. I like the visuals :)

For smaller projects, there is not much point in using it as the built-in tilemap is good enough to create the levels. 

For larger projects though, it is a lifesaver as you can use auto-tiling with it and can create large levels easily.

So, for a game-jam level game, I would (and did) use the built-in option. For a larger project, using Tiled can save a lot of time that would be spent on level creation

This makes trying it out a lot easier, sharing about it on Defold Forum could help with more people trying your game

Were you trying to bomb them while moving or idle? If idle, bombs may stop you too, when walking bombs are dropped the tile behind you (depending on the direction you were going towards) which makes it less likely to get caught up with explosions

I guess you are not allowed to change it till rating is finished. I tried the game and it is fun. Would love to learn about how did you code the AI of Pacman?

Also, creating a new project on itch.io and  uploading a web version to it would let more people to try your game :)

That was the case at first but when player is faster, using bombs becomes an additional feature rather than a core one. Right now, since player is slower than ghosts, he has to use bombs to stop and kill them :)

Yes, on the menu you can see a summary of their AI. Pink tries ambushing the player. Like player, enemies can also use the passage and teleport from right edge to the left one or vice versa. Sometimes pink hides there till player approaches and come out. While I did not tell her to do it, since it was fun I let it stay that way :)

The game is already good and I am sure it will be a lot better once you finish it after the jam :)

Cool to see 3D submissions to the jam. I like the visuals and the fact that you do not have to worry about ammo amount so I can spam them to the enemies all the time :)

Another Pacman themed game, I also used Pacman for my game!

Fun but difficult game, requires precision with controls and strategy to not get cornered by enemies, art is also cute :)

A unique gameplay and nice twist to the genre. Would love to see a more challenging version of it!

Simple but fun. Being able to use a piece to first block the opponent, then use for the win is nice :)

I like this new version of the game. Takes the simple game to a whole new level with more calculation and strategy.

The computer being forgiving and not choosing the best square all the time is also great as makes it possible to win against AI :)

Fun twist to the original game. Since we are free to select playing any level, I selected level 4 at the first upgrade and was stuck not being able to cut anything. Maybe limiting the possible level depending on the current level of the player could help for clueless player like me :)

I like the game feel, it's polished and level design is cool. I especially like the main menu :)

And yes, I am thinking of making a video on the process and the jam. For the tutorial, I could make tutorial for separate games, but coding with this one was not the greatest.. Make it work  was the main goal so it's a bit messy. Still, the tutorial on it could be possible if I refactor the code a bit.

Cool game, harder than it looks. Playing with only one key makes it a bit easier :)

I like the art style but could not figure how to get upgrades and beat the first enemy..
