That does not answer my question. What I am asking is, to succeed on the roll:
- Does at least one die need to show a "6"?
- Example: the dice show 1, 2, 3, & 5. Since none of the dice show a 6, the player does not succeed.
OR
- Does the numbers on the dice together need to total at least 6?
- Example: the dice show 1+2+3+5=11. Since 11 is greater than 6, the player succeeds.
Gotcha! I saw it on a reread; sorry I missed that! Another question: when you say, "With at least a 6 she succeeds," for checks, does that mean at least 1 d6 that has rolled a 6? Or the digits on the dice together totaling at least 6? I'm planning on running this and a few other games at a local game store for Free RPG Day this year and I'm doing my rules notes atm!
Very cool! I'll also share my SRD/CC game library in case it can be useful to anyone: https://itch.io/c/4035763/srds-hackables-creative-commons-gamessystems
Hooray! & the song is What's More, Once More by Captive Portal!
Welcome to itch! Thanks for making an account to fill out the survery; I really appreciate it! I'd love to hear more about why you loved the characters so much!
Also, here's a little secret about this game: there is nothing tracking your cache/cookies to stop you from replaying. The only thing holding you to that is the request to only play once unless you answer the questions. A little pact between author & player, if you will!
You're welcome! It was a very moving experience.
Huh! It was that big when I printed it out without any modifications (100% size, etc); you saw the picture. How big is it supposed to be when printed? Genuinely want to figure this out, I hope I'm not coming across as defensive b/c that's not my intention/tone at all!
That makes sense! I just liked the idea of having each side with the two versions, which is why I combined the pdfs. A combined file could be good to add in the future!
I didn't find the box preparation too difficult; I just poked through with a pen, then put my scissors in the hole and cut on the edges. A few design tweaks could be good though; I'm curious what those will be.
Yeah, it really worked for me! & that makes total sense!
You're very welcome! Thanks again for the game.
Name: Avery Happenstance
Their Pronouns: they/them
Their career: receptionist at a community outreach organization
One secret nobody else should know: at certain intervals, they turn from a gnoll into a human woman. They have named this persona "Gwen". When Avery is a gnoll, they are bigger, brasher, and less traditionally attractive. When they are Gwen, they are smaller, thinner, and feel more pressure to act as the gender assigned to them at birth.
Why they're riding: to try to find a way to end their shifting. They ride in the Ash Cabin.
The game ran like a dream and was an excellent time! The only thing is that players wanted to know what would happen if a stat had 0d6s in it--some were pondering min-maxing and giving 1 stat all 7 dice, lol.
My main complaint is that the Cost/Complication table is a bit too small/constricting? I ended up choosing from the chart at times instead of rolling.
