Thanks! Yeah, you’re right — it is a bit frustrating having to reread all the text every time just because you pressed the wrong action. That’s kind of the downside of trying to come up with a different design instead of using the more common point‑and‑click verb interface. And with the limited buttons on the NES controller it gets even worse, obviously.

Maybe a Mother‑style menu could’ve made things simpler, but I was afraid it would feel too out of style — too RPG‑like, with pauses to choose what to do, etc. I preferred keeping it a bit more immediate.

I’m not sure if I should call the experiment successful, but I’ll definitely keep studying it.

Thanks! Yeah, I couldn’t quite replicate the scrolling used there, because when I moved in 8‑pixel steps it created a really ugly effect, with the character doing weird little jumps back and forth. So I went with slightly larger increments to make it feel cleaner, but honestly it still doesn’t fully convince me either.

Wow, this is perfect. Everything is top‑notch, super smooth, satisfying controls, NES‑style music and audio, graphics, everything. Great job.

This is incredible!

Lovely game!

I downloaded it again and now it works! I don’t know if you changed anything, but it works for me now

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll try to send a notification when the game is completed after the jam. I hope you’ll like the ending.

Thanks a lot!

Yeah, of course!

Wow, the aesthetics and controls are perfectly NES‑style, great job!

Beautiful idea, a mix of so many great classics.

I pressed every key on the keyboard but the game stayed stuck on the title screen :(

Very original idea. At first I didn’t understand why it stopped walking, then I realized it was a game mechanic. But when I ended up without arms and legs I had no idea what to do anymore, and as soon as the torso hit zero I lost.

Super cute! Toki vibes

Very cool idea, also very challenging

Very nice! Cool Concept

Thanks, I’m glad you liked it!

Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it

I escaped somehow! Nice experience. A bit unsettling and hypnotic, especially the sound of the footsteps. Fun overall! The aesthetic style is spot‑on, very Atari.

I loved it! Pico‑8 was a great choice for this jam, the style fits perfectly. The music and the gameplay loop are really nice too — very addictive. Great job!

Can't move or restart :(

Lovely game! It convinced me to keep trying until I finally managed to beat it, and I think that’s a fundamental quality for a game — making you feel like you HAVE to finish it or you won’t be satisfied. Really nice!

It has kind of a retro PC vibe than a console one maybe, but it still gives off that feeling. Really nice! I’m not sure why, but when playing in the browser the arrow keys were scrolling the whole page, so it became a bit uncomfortable to play.

Very good game! I think it captures the feeling of one of those old consoles pretty well. Great job!

It really captures the feeling of the console, very nice! Also quite challenging, as it should be. Maybe the enemy bullets are a bit too dark — it’s a little hard to see them. Great job!

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked it, and that it triggered that kind of reaction 😆.

Yes, that screen is definitely the toughest one because you’re surrounded, and I realize the aiming is kind of the game’s weak point. Since I wanted to emulate the original console’s joystick, which only had one action button, I had to use the Up key for jumping, and that ended up limiting the aiming options. Maybe there’s a better way to handle it though.

Anyway, thanks! I’ll try yours soon as well.

Thank you so much! I felt really bad leaving it without music and sound effects, but unfortunately I ended up with just enough time to make the bare minimum work. I wanted to do a lot more, but it was my first time trying something with such a short deadline.

Thank you so much! I do feel a bit guilty for how I handled the theme haha, but when I realized I was going to waste too much time on the character creation it was already too late to start another project. So I just waited to finish it, and by then I had very little time left to make the actual game lol

Wow, amazing! In some ways it even feels like an improved version of mine haha. I also tried making a character editor and a top‑down game, but I didn’t manage to finish it.

Very fun! Nice mechanic — the movement is a bit uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it quickly.

Very fun game!

Wonderful. Games like this are proof that videogames can be a form of art. This one manages to give you both a pleasant sense of relaxation and an engaging challenge that mixes logic and reflexes. The music is great too.

Thanks! Unfortunately I didn’t have time to make a proper background track (I used the ‘weird’ theme as an excuse to make one in 20 seconds).

About the 3 points per round, I’m not sure, maybe you only played the first two levels. In the later ones you can score a lot more.

Thank you!

Very fun game! Too bad it isn’t resizable, it appears very small and stuck on the left. Really cute style, though.

Really interesting idea and great physics

It seems like an interesting idea, but something isn’t working — maybe it has to do with the screen size. Whatever I try, nothing seems to change and I end up losing the game every time.

Cool style!

Lovely

Loved this one!
