Just as a reminder, mod updates always come out at the same time as Eternum's public releases, so the mod for 0.9 will come out on 2026-01-21 at 16:00 UTC!

Okay, first and foremost: The mod can have you start the game at any chapter with a name of your choosing, but it can't modify a name of a save you already have.
For that purpose I recommend URM: The MC's first name is stored in a variable called "mc"; use URM do change it and you're golden. Similarly, "lastname" stores the MC's last name and "nickname" stores his pseudonym inside Eternum.
Now, if you still want to use my mod: Installation should be pretty straightforward, just put one of the mod's .rpa files into your "game" folder and that's it. What players sometimes don't realize is that the mod is intentionally keeping a low profile, it's not always obvious that you have it installed. Go to the preferences and look to the right side, if there's a set of options titled "Passive Walkthrough", the mod is installed.
Finally, the hidden feature for starting at any chapter can be accessed by clicking the N of Eternum five times on the title menu. But only if you have the mod installed! I chose to make it a hidden feature, because using it makes your playthrough a lot less personal imo, even when you do customize your name. It's a cheat code, and that's how I'm treating it.
That's all I can tell you with the information you gave me. Hope this helps!
You're saying that you "played on a older version and then downloaded a new one here". That's quite vague. What you definitely shouldn't do is treat this mod as an upgrade for your game. Mod version 0.8.6m1 really only works for Eternum 0.8.6, you can't use it on an older version, like Eternum 0.7.5. You can download new versions of Eternum here.
But if you're sure that you've matched the versions properly and are still having trouble, you have to send me a screenshot of the "script looking thing", otherwise I won't be able to tell what's wrong.
My first OIALT experience was similar to yours, which inspired me to create this mod. And yeah, you're bringing up a major problem: The mod is designed for first time players, but who starts looking for mods when they haven't even tried the game yet? I'm working on making more of these mods, so that even if you learned about Causality too late with one AVN, there's still Causality mods for other AVNs that you benefit from going forward. But until then, I kinda rely on word-of-mouth recommendations.
Reading your anecdote makes me feel validated about my work, thank you for writing it!
- My overall rating: 10/10
- Story, characters, and lewd content: 10/10
- Audio, visuals, and animations: 8/10
For part 3: This game has excellent writing in all aspects: world building, general story, dialogues, and dirty talk. And the story is not straightforward: You have to pay attention while you play, and continuing your save after a new update will leave you a bit stranded. Thankfully, there's an in-game codex to summarize events, explain concepts, and help you out if you've forgotten someone's name.
And there's generally a lot of flirtiness going on, lot's of teasing and dirty talk. Visuals are good, animations are just alright in the first chapter, but get way better after that. If you appreciate good writing and are up for a slightly more challenging read, this is a hidden gem that by now is actually not so hidden anymore!
My top 12 of games with amazing writing, which aren't abandoned:
- Once in a Lifetime by Caribds
- Eternum by Caribdis
- The Nature of Magic by Slate Interactive
- Companion of Darkness by Berkili4
- Ripples by Jestur
- Summer Heat by Naugthy Fox Games
- City of Broken Dreamers by Philly Games
- Realm Invader by Invader Gary
- Desert Stalker by Zetan
- Chasing Sunsets by Stone Fox Studios
- Now & Then by ILS Productions
- Double Homework by Love-Joint
Can't you transfer your saves instead? In the game's "game" folder, you'll find a "saves" folder. You can copy it and place it into your other computer's "game" folder to keep playing with your saves.
The mod does have a secret feature, where you can start playing from any chapter, but I usually discourage using it, that's why I keep it mostly secret. Starting from any chapter feels like loading someone else's save; it's less personal than when you got there yourself. I usually recommend just playing Eternum again from the start, the game is entertaining enough, that you can play it many times!
But if you really want the secret sauce: You can click/tap on the N of eterNum on the title screen five times to bring up chapter selection.
And I'm glad you like my mod! <3
Damn, I'm impressed. And all that because of a very slow uplink bandwidth. Here's a few more ideas for you:
- There are more ...unsavory places on the internet that offer Eternum for download unofficially, also using other download providers. I usually wouldn't suggest them, but no better time to get creative than now I guess. If you're concerned about malware, here's the SHA-256 checksum of the original PC version's zip file, version 0.8.6:
515d1bfe61db3753fe3d974935bed1bfd4e506ca7a2dfe7cbd4ba6eb8e381c52 - Other than that, you could try to automate the process of copying the download link by writing a custom browser plugin. You don't have to use Firefox for that!
- As for the problem with the different IPs, if it is a problem, you could set up a proxy on your remote machine and tell your browser to use that.
- Or, if you have semi-regular access to your remote machine anyway, what's stopping you from initiating the download there and taking it home on a USB stick?
- My overall rating: 7/10
- Story & audio: 7/10
- Characters, visuals, and lewd content: 6/10
- Animations: 4/10
The story is unique and interesting, though a lot of scenes lack clarity and some actions of the MC or side characters are occasionaly strange or not well-reasoned, especially in regards to lewd interactions.
Speaking of lewd interactions, I haven't seen too much of those in my playthrough (but that's okay, it's still quite early) and when they did come up it was quite often out of the blue. All animations I've seen were of non-lewd nature and they were more on the meme-y side in terms of context and quality.
Visually, the characters are good but the renders only have basic lighting; they're what you'd expect from a beginner. There are a few story images with a drawn look and those are pretty good. The UI is slightly customized, but could be better as well.
Audio is okay, sound effects are rare though and there was one instance where I found the choice of music strange.
Overall, Leviathan does have interesting ideas and executes them decently enough, but there's no aspect of it that I would call high quality in its current state. It's quite okay.
- My overall rating: 6/10
- Audio: 8/10
- Characters: 7/10
- Story & visuals: 6/10
- Animations: 5/10
- Lewd content: 4/10
I would describe this game as fast paced and goofy. It doesn't take itself too seriously most of the time, but there are occasional serious bits. Choices are rare but seem impactful. What bothers me the most is that the pacing is all over the place and there's not a lot to hold on to story wise. That makes it not boring at least, but the permanent turmoil got tiring after a while, so I did end up dropping it. But for you maybe it's exactly what you're looking for! The lewd scenes were kinda bare bones and I couldn't really develop a deeper care for any of the characters. So, my overall verdict: It's alright.

For version 0.3: Astreon's writing has definitely improved since the first release, but there are still issues. For one, the goals of the MC and his party are sometimes not clearly explained or seem arbitrary. It often feels like I'm missing context. Then there's not a lot of (emotional) intimacy going on, not even in the lewd scenes. And I think Olivia is annoying quite often. So while overall expressiveness has gotten better, it's still not good. Lastly, there were a few dialogue errors that basic proofreading should've caught; that just doesn't leave a good impression. Visually the game is nice, the characters look great, and the UI is very stylish. The animations are unique, not the default HS animations, and pretty alright in quality.
Overall, I have no doubt that the dev is trying to tell a nice story. He even cut an early lewd scene that the game just gave you out of nowhere. Though while things did improve, he's not fully there yet
- My overall rating: 9/10
- Visuals, characters, and lewd content: 10/10
- story & Animations: 9/10
- audio: 8/10
Very stunning visually and the story has a really fast, but still controlled, pace. It's prbly great if you have ADHD but I personally would've liked a bit more time to get settled in. And the MC has personality, he's not the traditional self-insertable husk. The UI looks nice but the text in the codex is quite small; I don't know how someone on a smartphone is supposed to read it.
Definitely check it out; it's a 45 minute adventure and while not everyone may agree with the style, you have to admit that this is really well made.
- My overall rating: 8/10
- Animations: 10/10
- Lewd content & characters: 9/10

The plot is original and interesting, though I found the introduction to in-game Cradle quite jarring; the MC dives head first into something he didn't understand at all. And even now I'm not 100% sure what Cradle is or pretends to be. Also, the dialogue with the first female character you meet should be more understandable. I get the stylistic choice, but I wouldn't intentionally make her dialogue harder to read. Other than that, the writting is pretty good. The dev wants to leave the typical structure of AVNs behind and subvert expectations; I'm intrigued and want to see where it leads.
Okay, animations and lewd scenes: They're really good. Best part about the game. Sound design: Not so much. First of all, the music often glitches out when you roll back. And even without that, sometimes it's eerily quiet and sometimes, in contrast, there's SFX for stuff you wouldn't expect to have SFX. The sound design could use an overhaul imo. The visuals are pretty good, but for what the game wants to be, I can feel the limitations imposed by the 3D environments the renders are shot in. Other AVNs do a better job at hiding this.
Verdict: Not bad! It definitely sets itself apart from the competition and has decent quality, but there are still kinks the dev needs to work out before this game can ascend to awesomeness status.
My overall rating: 10/10
I rate story, visuals, audio, animations, characters, and lewd content also all 10/10.
With the current trend of AVNs being epic titles with very long developement times, I very much appreciate projects that are deliberately small scale with a decent chance of seeing completion in the near future.
This is a work by 395games and if you liked his previous (completed!) title MIST, I'm sure you'll like this one as well: High quality visuals & animations with a unique style, nice writing, and a great ambiance.
Desert Stalker and MIST were the only sandbox AVNs I liked until now and I'm happy to add this one to the list as well. Awesome work, keep it up!
Okay, it seems like you have a problem that you've already thoroughly analyzed yourself, down to thinking about the protocols that facilitate the file transfer. I'm just going to get a few ideas out there, at the risk that most of them are not viable or you already tried them:
- Have you tried different browsers? They all might have slightly different properties regarding download error handling.
- When I download with Firefox and that download fails, with most download providers I can usually retry and it resumes the download where it left off.
- Also, Firefox has "advanced preferences" where you can manually set some setting variables that Firefox uses, possibly also related to downloading files. Maybe playing around with those could help.
- MEGA uses its very own downloading system that involves decrypting the file on your machine. That's why you can't download large files via browser, because there isn't enough primary memory allocated necessary for the decryption. The MEGA program/app however doesn't have this problem and it is very well capable of pausing a download and picking up where it left off later.
- You could consider renting a remote machine with a better uplink bandwidth, downloading the files onto it first and then freely pick an appropriate protocol/way of transferring the files from it to you.
Check the walkthrough among the game downloads. Also, I've made a guidance mod that helps with situations like this; if you don't want to manually check the walkthrough every other time.
That's sad to hear, having to give up on a project you invested so much into already, but I can understand your reasoning. On the flip side, I like high quality small-scale titles - My Girl Loves Handcuffs was great so far - so I can definitely see the good in this decision.
I also bought CoM and don't mind the cancellation too much. You're putting out great work and you're transparent with your community, so treating this as a pure transaction isn't the way imo.
Here's a guidance mod you might like. You need enough affection points with Lauren to not lose her path, the mod will assist you with that.
Or, if you prefer, you can instead play alongside the (written) official walkthrough, which you can find among the game downloads.
Your question is politically charged. It's attracting political discourse when most here are just trying to relax. That's unpopular.
The default procedure for determining gender on the internet: Guessing. Just be respectful and noone will condemn you if you get it wrong. But if you're unsure, use they/them.
The current consensus is that Cari is male, but afaik he never commented on his gender.
Not just you, on Android bugs are fixed less frequently. You could install a mod, those usually add the latest fixes to the game. Check the featured mods section above, though you can only pick one, they're mutually exclusive.
If you don't want to use mods: Start a new game, play until you've chosen a name, then save. Whenever you want to access the gallery, just do it from that save.
