Open Source Python Hardware Platforms

Driver support for 3D Controller Hardware. We hope to support SDL Input, DirectInput, and other major controller API's including game consoles and embedded systems.

This python utility allows users on Linux to control their PC using a HID compatible USB foot pedal. Note: footcontroller does not support the new VEC Infinity in-USB3 pedal, which is not fully Linux compatible The foot pedal becomes an extra mouse or mini keyboard but footcontroller allows you to define multiple pedal sets which you can activate at the click of a button. It uses xdotool to provide you with the ability to assign commands to each pedal. Many foot pedals come with software, often MS Windows only, which allows you to program the pedals to perform some function or other, Footcontroller does away with the proprietary software and allows you to define multiple sets of commands that can be swapped in or out at the click of a button. The advantage is that now, your foot pedal can perform different tasks in multiple situations simply by selecting the appropriate pedal set, rather than having to re-program the foot pedal from scratch.

This project site maintains several projects that support the acerhk.ko linux module and provide a GUI interface for the module to activate and deactivate the wireless and bluetooth radios. Computer Temperature Monitor is a little applet for the GNOME desktop that shows the temperature of your computer CPU and disks on screen. It allows you to log temperatures to a file. You can set alarms to notify you when a tempertature is reached.

GFreqlet is a GNOME applet for Linux that not only monitors CPU frequency scaling, but also allows the end user to change the frequency or governor with just a click. It automatically detects which frequencies and governors your processor supports.

Gizmod is a utility for enabling alternative input devices to be used in Linux. This includes such devices as the PowerMate USB dial, fancy keyboards and mice with buttons not recognized or supported by X. Gizmod allows per application event mappings.

Laptop Temperature Monitor is a little applet for the GNOME desktop that shows the temperature of your CPU on screen. You can log temperatures to a file as well. Laptop Temperature Monitor is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

Monitors CPU Temperature from command line in Fahrenheit and Celsius and gives results of highest and lowest temperatures, and average over period of time run, then logs the data. Requires ACPI.

The foot pedal emulates a mouse in conjunction with up to 4 modifier keys, ALT, CONTROL, SHIFT and ESCAPE. Functions available are Left Click, Double Click, Right Click, Cursor Up, Cursor Down, Cursor Left, Cursor Right, Wheel Scroll Up, Wheel Scroll Down, Middle Click, Page Up, Page Down, Window Select, Close window, Minimise window and Null (define an option that does nothing) - Many foot pedals come with software, often MS Windows only, which allows you to program the pedals to perform some function or other, Footmouse does away with the proprietary software and allows you to assign Mouse commands to a pedal or a pedal with a modifier key. All functions can be assigned as you require. Designed principally to help people who have difficulty operating a Mouse but able to operate a foot pedal. By its very nature, moving about the screen is slow compared with using a mouse but it does the job, if you can't use a mouse. Note: new VEC Infinity in-USB3 foot pedal not supported.

Stylus Toolbox is an Epson inkjet printer utility. It shows ink levels, allows you to clean and align your print heads, and to perform a nozzle check. As it is a graphical front-end for escputil, it supports all Epson printers supported by Gutenprint.
