ABOUT Exton|OS is based on Ubuntu 24.04 64 bit and Debian Sid. Exton|OS ISO file is a ISO-hybrid, which means that it can easily be transferred (copied) to a USB stick. IMPORTANT ABOUT REFRACTA TOOLS Refracta tools are pre-installed in Exton|OS . Use Refracta Snapshot to create your own live installable Ubuntu system. RUNS FROM RAM Another great thing is that Exton|OS can run from RAM. Use Boot alternative 2 (Load to RAM). When the system has booted up you can remove the disc (DVD/CD) or USB stick. You'll need at least 4 GB RAM to run Exton|OS that way. I.e. super fast! USB installation To enable persistence you can install Exton|OS to a USB stick in the same way as a hard drive installation. You can use Refracta Installer. ANDROID STUDIO You can emulate different Android systems (with GAPPS). If you have plenty of RAM you can do it live. I.e. while running Exton|OS from a USB stick. This project is for an iPhone/iPad viewer that is used to display FAA digital aviation charts. It also includes the support files necessary to prepare digital charts as downloadable tiles and a point of sale web site used by end users to obtain the charts. The viewer's features includes generating track points, which can be saved as GPX. The viewer can also be used to plot flights. The point of sale purchase system is Drupal based with a MySQL database. The remote device connects to the database using a Glassfish server and Jersey. This app has been available on Apple's iTunes App Store for over two years and has a 4+ star ratings. I have moved on to other things and while I've been maintaining it I'd like to see it continue to improve. That's is why I'm releasing it as an open source project. -
