Open Source Java User Interface (UI) Software

The open source Material Design Douban client. Among all people who directly access Douban, the most common and consistent usage is around ratings, comments, discoveries, and discussions around movies, TV, books, records, and events (what we call "items"). We will use the ratings and comments that are synchronized with the website as a starting point and basis to reconstruct the discovery and discussion around personal interests on the mobile phone. Douban is never a single website, and the usage of Douban is naturally different. Douban is used to obtain information, but whether the acquisition of information is based on entries and algorithms, or based on neighbors and people, this issue has probably remained unresolved in the multiple revisions of Douban. Douban Broadcasting has been one of the few Android Design applications in China a few years ago. Actively express the characteristics of Douban, such as broadcasting, neighbors, Douyou, etc.

WireMaster is a user interface (UI) tool for creating wireframes in an open, XML based format. A wireframe is a basic visual guide used in web design to suggest the structure of a website and relationships between it's pages.

The Android Image Slider project is an Android UI component/library that provides a convenient, customizable image slider (carousel) for mobile apps. Instead of building a custom slider from scratch, developers can drop in this library’s slider view into their layout and configure it via XML or code to display a series of images — from local drawables, files, or remote URLs — with smooth transitions, animations, and optional indicators. This significantly simplifies development of galleries, onboarding screens, advertisement banners, or any UI requiring swipable images in Android apps. The library supports various slide animations (transitions), auto-sliding, and event listeners (e.g., click events on slides), giving developers flexibility around how the slider behaves. For mobile apps where image-heavy UI is common (e.g. e-commerce, portfolios, media galleries), AndroidImageSlider offers a ready-made, tested component that saves time and ensures consistency.

BottomSheet is an Android component which presents a dismissible view from the bottom of the screen. BottomSheet can be a useful replacement for dialogs and menus but can hold any view so the use cases are endless. This repository includes the BottomSheet component itself but also includes a set of common view components presented in a bottom sheet. These are located in the commons module. The IntentPickerSheetView component presents an intent chooser in the form of a BottomSheet view. Give it an intent such as a share intent and let the user choose what activity they want to share the intent with in a BottomSheet. The MenuSheetView component presents a BottomSheet view that's backed by a menu. It behaves similarly to the new NavigationView in the Design support library, and is intended to mimic the examples in the Material Design spec. It supports list and grid states, with the former adding further support for separators and subheaders.

DIAS stands for “Disability Impairment Approximation Simulator” and is a Netbeans IDE plugin. It approximately simulates the difficulties someone with vision and other impairments face when interacting with Java Swing GUIs.

Fast UML is an open-source UML tool with a simple user interface pop-up free. Draw UML diagrams fast, export diagrams to png, jpg and clipboard. It pretends to be the union between Violet and UMLet.

Java Runtime Designer is a visual designer component that can be easily embedded in your application and used to change the layout of the dialog at runtime. The runtime designer allows you to switch at any time between the live and design mode.

JSwingWidget is a library designed for the quick and easy creation of many standard GUI components, using swing.

K-Surfer is a novel and unique software plugin for KNIME for the management and analysis of FreeSurfer brain dMRI data. K-Surfer consists of a suite of KNIME nodes that perform several tasks, such as importing diffusion data generated from TRACULA, importing morphological measures obtained from the segmentation and reconstruction of neuroimages and visualising the probability distribution of white matter pathways. Excellent addition to any application, the ProjessUpdater Application Extension (PAE) can be applied to assist in end-user updates and downloads from a centralized location. The suite consists of an open-source client and a server.

Shimmer is an Android library that provides an easy way to add a shimmer effect to any view in your Android app. It is useful as an unobtrusive loading indicator that was originally developed for Facebook Home. Shimmer for Android is implemented as a layout, which means that you can simply nest any view inside a ShimmerFrameLayout tag, and call to start the animation from your code. That's all that is required. The layout will use the values you specify either on the tag (using custom attributes) or programmatically in your code, and generate an animation on the fly. See the API reference for further details. Note that you cannot use the custom attributes on the tag if you use the Jar file. You can instead download the AAR file and reference that locally in your project. You can use the included Gradle wrapper to build the Shimmer library and sample application locally as well.
