This code works best with the NodeMCU V2 ESP8266 module and an 0.96" OLED display. To get you up and running in no time we created a kit that contains all the necessary parts. By buying this and other kits from us you are funding the maintenance and development of this library. Make sure you use a version of the Arduino IDE which is supported by the ESP8266 platform. If you are using the PlatformIO environment for building, choose one of the available IDE integration or the Atom-based IDE, install libraries 561, 562, and 563 with "platformio lib install", adapt the WeatherStationDemo.ino file to your needs. The simple class uses the header date and time to set the clock. NTP-based time class written by Fabrice Weinberg. We fixed many bugs and improved performance and changed the API a little bit. Either compare your code to the updated WeatherStationDemo or read through the upgrade guide.

The motivation of this project is to monitor and control several energy-sources like wind generators or solar panels. It will develop to a full and low-cost smarthome-solution, but for now we started to capture the weather as a basis to calculate the efficiency of the energy-sources. The client-server architecture consists of several clients (ie. the weather-station, a station to measure the power consumption, the charge controller, rgb-controller for the lights, shutter controller, etc.) and the server, which is connected to a remote database and will be visualized/controlled on desktop computers, tablets and/or smartphones. The project is based on the current version of the qt classlibrary (v5.4) and qtcreator as the ide!

This small project sits in my kitchen and provides simple access to the times of all local public transport services that you can use. One button cycles: a clock, bus arrival times at the local stop to a preset destination, trains to a specific destination and finally a summary weather forecast (if you need an umbrella!) It does not cover the Underground as these services are so frequent to not require a timetable. It runs adequately on an old Pi Zero W. All the APIs are free, but the Train and Weather require sign up. The device features a time out to prevent hammering the API. Personal Weather Station is a simple educational project used for learning various skills in electronics and programming. The station will collect the data using a couple of sensors connected to a micro-controller. Collected data will be uploaded to an online weather server where visitors can see the collected data. Multiple stations can send data to the weather website and visitors can select which station to see using a simple search or selecting from a map.
