ActCAD Software

Pros: The ActCAD software is good to work with, is quite user friendly, very user friendly to release and recover software.

Cons: Need a better library, if the team can develop a BIM Software (like archicad) that would be much more better.

Overall: I like ActCAD very much and recommend it to all as it very a good product in very reasonable price range.

Pros: Easy installation & rightly priced. light software. Good initiative for providing option to AutoCAD.

Cons: Design fault. Every time you have to purchase afresh. No upgradation is available for already purchased version.

Overall: Bad feeling. It gives a jerk to see that every now and then a new version is launched and you have to buy afresh instead of upgradation.

Pros: Full compatibility with de facto standard dwg, command line with well known statements.
Friendly interface.

Cons: I would like a cheaper price for the updates once I already bought the software.

Overall: I used a famous and well known cad software and all my know how was good using ActCAD that is powerful and professional.

Pros: Command tool option and so more as
Compared to to other software.
On one platform we get get both 2D and 3D tool.
Price is economical.
Products are nice.

Cons: Block editing become stuck sometimes, need to fix this bug.
Customer support required more strongly.

Overall: Overall I strongly recommended to use this software.
You don't get perpetual licence in such economical cost it's very nice.
Thanks for giving alternative solution to other software.

Pros: Sketchy tools and 2d is very easy friendly to use.

Easy and user oriented isometric commands.

Cons: Block editing does not work properly. Has many glitches.

Overall: Perfect to use in organisations and for students also.
Recommended to students as well as professionals.

Cons: Block tool is not perfect yet and has many glitches. It does not work properly while editing or coping.

Pros: I like those Advance features & commands, the license price is affordable as compared to other designing software, having very good in 2D& 3D designing. Flexible technical support.

Cons: I have not observed any. It's good to use for me.

Overall: I like those Advance features & commands in this particular software, it's working with high speed and very good performance, using experience is very good, I also mentioned one thing here the most likely thing is license price is it's affordable. If you want to go to ActCAD please don't think more just go for it.

Pros: Very good low cost alternative to Autocad.
Good handling of raster data sets.

Overall: Feature rich, stable CAD software.
Installation was tricky but lots of prompt help form support staff.

Pros: Every time tips you get while you start are good enough to develop.
All options you get very easily. Basically, this is good software for cad designers.

Cons: I am not that conversant to comment for this. I have worked on the Drafting board & worked as checker for the last 40 years.

Overall: I am not that familiar with this as for long I was using Autocad.
Of course, basically, I am a checker hence not that used to cad.
The maximum persons should use this as this is cheaper, quite good & equivalent to Auto-cad.

Pros: Good price tag.
Easy to pick up after using autodesk products as interface is similar.
Runs fine on my laptop.

Cons: System processes seem slow. E.g.Large join functions seem to case the system to hang.
The product crashes regularly for no apparent reason. Though the auto back up works really well.
The snap function are hard to see.

Overall: As a small hobbyist that can’t afford the cost of other big name software. This suit my requirement, but there are some parts of software that make me want to through my computer at the wall due to frustration.

Pros: ActCAD functions and commands are very similar to the top CAD program but comes in at a cost far under the competitor. The interface is so similar that operating the program is second nature after spending years working with the competitor’s software. I tried a different popular software and found I just couldn’t get anything done because the commands were changed too much. From the start, ActCAD ran all the commands I was familiar with, and even has some of the shortcut keys that I thought would not be included. I’m very happy with the savings and familiarity of ActCAD.

Cons: There are a few items that I wish had better tutorial support. 3D production is one of the items. When learning other 3D software, tutorials were available that build a specific model. The goal was clear, and the commands were gone through in a way that made learning them very easy. The ActCAD tutorials just show commands and what they do without actually building a specific model.

Overall: Overall, ActCAD is very well thought out and a cost effective alternative to all the other available CAD programs on the market.

Pros: Happy to get perpetual license in economy cost.
Got strong alternative for other cad software.
3D & 2D tool both available on same platform.

Cons: Block copy & paste become stuck sometimes, need to fix bug.
Custom support need to make strong.

Overall: I strongly recommend to use this software.

Pros: I like to work with my older ACAD - Drawings and the price of the program is okay. There are a lot of functions to use.

Cons: The tool-Icons are to small and very difficult to find sometimes. To pick up a correct window in the Print-field is very bad and frustrating.

Overall: I am able, to work with the program, but ACAD is more professional and has a perfect design. The price of the program is very good.

Pros: Overall, this is a great application, and one you will not regret purchasing. Works just like you-know-what CAD package, but at an affordable price. All the commands are there and they work pretty much the same. The menus seem to be laid out well. Some things are not where you expect them to be, so it will take a little time (a few uses?) to get comfortable, as with any software package.

I have not tried all the features available, but they are all there and should work as well as the basic ones.

Cons: Support. I had a problem transferring the license to another computer and ActCAD was not able to solve the problem after about 3 emails back and forth.

Overall: If you have experience with AutoCAD, you will like this software. Learning time is comparable if you are starting from scratch, but if you have experience -- no problem. Good experience over all. No problems with the software itself, other than the license problem.

Pros: Very useful and very easy to draw the drawings. I use this software for tool manufacturing purpose drawing.

Cons: Price is very cheap compared with AutoCAD. 2d drawing is easy to draw.

Overall: Overall performance is awesome. Price is unbelievable. Easy to teach to others. I refer to purchase this software to others.

Pros: Price. You don't need thousands of dollars to work on CAD drawings. Skills are transferable to AutoCad.

PDF importer is great.

Cons: Same as AutoCAD. Not very intuitive. I would like easier printing and set ups.

Overall: Great product for the price. I have recommended to many people. I love the ability to import PDF's.

Pros: ActCad is very intuitive, and the platform is very stable. It performs 100% of the tasks I require of it. Albeit, not always at first, and that's a function of this end user, not the program. I am a retired Civil/Structural Bridge Engineer, and I am not and never have been an accomplished CAD user. I have used others for that function, yet in to my retirement, loosing the proprietary software my firm used, this product does what I need it to for the projects that I need CAD assistance on.

Cons: Sometimes settings don't hold from one session to another (mainly screen settings), but I can easily attribute this to my expectations, and possibly inability to fully understand the program.

Overall: I looked at several CAD options before leaving my present employment, where the company has used Bentley Products at least for the past 30 years. This program is the only program that I could take my present knowledge base (not that great), and immediately be productive, at least at a level that suits my needs. The Cost of the product is extremely reasonable, and does not require an annual contract. Thanks ActCad!

Pros: Features are quite a lot for basic and medium users, Price is super low, family style is ok fur sure, US support is great!

Cons: HQ support (web), some clunky design choices, basic BIM.

Overall: Pretty recommendable for many users, in civil, environmental, and mechanic design. Not really the tool for many choices, but if you have all other softwares, this is a good backup on other devices or for some users in the office.

Pros: Full compatibility with Autocad, Low price, Perpetual Licence, low price to upgrade to the next version.
Easy to customise menus and toolbars and bring in previous Autocad customisation.
Autolisp works fine with Actcad. Very few changes required in old code containing the "Command Dim".

Cons: Not possible to plot with Print Styles and Transparency at the same time.
Bypass this problem by setting variable PLOTTRANSPARENCYOVERRIDE=2 and choosing Plot with Print Styles.
Print preview quality needs improvement.
No Visual Basic for Applications.

Overall: An excellent alternative for Autocad. Very easy to transfer previous customisations from Autocad. A very affordable solution.

Pros: The software is easy to use and familiar. The progression from previously used cad software to ActCAD was seamless. The product is more than adequate for my needs and the low price exceptional.

Cons: Some of the software processes are a little awkward to use (the "change" command, for example).

Overall: Overall, the software is a pleasure to use and the cost to acquire the license makes the product a great bargain.
