Percona Server for MySQL

Pros: It has a trial version and a free one that makes the product available for the mass as it is a great opportunity for everyone. Besides, in our system, we use Oracle MySQL and it shows amazing performance. Storage of data management is having incredible performance.

Cons: The user interface, generally, I would like to have it more user-friendly that we were experiencing some difficulties when we were implementing first. The scale of documentation still lacks and comparing with other actors in the marketplace for the same segment.

Overall: Generally, I would say it is an amazing product that is capable to satisfy greatly the needs of users, however, I want to highlight that there is still room for improvement.

Pros: We were able to achieve better performance using Percona Server. Costly features are made available free of cost. The Installation of the Server is easy and fast.

Cons: The Documentation and video guide of the product needs improvement.

Overall: Considering It's open-source and free, we are happy to use it. Also, Percona Server can be fully deployed on the Google cloud that is very helpful.

Pros: 1. All features made available for free.
2. Redeployment of upstream resources.
3. Evolution of resources.
4. Frequent benchmarking tests helping the community in best practices.
5. Community support.

Cons: So far I haven't found anything that could discourage use.

Overall: Using Percona Server for MySQL in companies is to have a robust database with many features that meet expectations
companies in the short, medium and long term.

Pros: Its ease of use. Support is very handy. Pricing is reasonable. We use this for lot of transactional workloads. It is scaling well for our needs.

Cons: There isn’t any thing I didn’t like. I am sure Percona will continue to improve the pricing.

Overall: It was very smooth. Didn’t face any challenges installing it. The support structure was awesome. Overall, good product.

Pros: Amazing product, stability, documentation and the performance is very nice.

Cons: Nothing , seriously is the best engine currently on the market.

Overall: Documentation is crystal clear.

Pros: I really enjoy the tools that are provided FREE with Percona. It makes backups, resource tuning, and performance analytics easy and saves me so much time. It's also very reliable and I've never had an issue, even in the event of a crash.

Cons: I haven't revisited XtraDB Cluster, but it was a little cumbersome when I first started. But setting up a slave and falling back to it was pretty easy and straight forward.

Overall: Percona Server for MSQL is the only DBMS I use for all my projects and clients. It's robust, reliable, and easy to set up and maintain.

Pros: We have been using Percona products and it has significantly improved our operations with reduced productions issues and improved performance.

Cons: Learning new product documentation .
Multi cluster replication is sometime confusing.

Overall: It’s really easy to troubleshoot and perform maintenance using Percona tools.

Pros: Percona's service is incredibly intuitive and easy to work with. I have not had any downtime. Sharding is never a problem.

Cons: There is a price that is more expensive than setting up your own server....but that is a headache.

Overall: I used it for its free trial and I think it's an incredibly simple product to get started with. If you're learning or just finding a drop-in replacement, this is what you want.

Pros: Required enhancements to MySQL. Even without the improvements made to MySQL distribution, the tooling around backups, replication etc is worth using over the standard distribution alone.

Cons: None that I can think of. Using Percona Server for MySQL makes it basically MySQL++.

Overall: Well documented, high quality solution. I wouldn't think of using a stock MySQL distribution. To me MySQL means Percona MySQL. When I've needed it the Percona support engineers have been subject matter experts and quickly identified our problems and provided solutions.

Pros: Ease to use, provides better performance and concurrency and has managed services and enterprise support.

Cons: In my opinion pricing is the issue in Percona server.

Overall: Great experience with Percona Server for MySQL. Its compatible and provides superior server performance.

Pros: I really like the server which is very useful implementing SQL tasks.
I recommend it to everyone, really appreciate able. I used it for free trial and it is just awesome.

Pros: Percona Server for MySQL is really awesome because it is SAAS deployable, works on premises and in the cloud and also it is enterprise ready and the workload consideration is superb.
Also it has great documentation to follow

Cons: There is nothing that I dislike about the product but I hope more new features will be added soon.

Overall: Overall, I enjoyed working with the Percona. it is amazing software and much recommended for all of my clients

It's different from oracle mysql enterprise tool but i will recommend it 100%.

Overall: My experience with this is very good throughout and i would recommend everyone to use it. Though it's different from oracle mysql tools but it's also easy to use.

Pros: Installation and usage are quite easy. Available as open-source software. The migration path to the Percona XtraDB cluster becomes easy because of this software. Equipped with cloud and security features.

Cons: The documentation available for end-users and support for large scale applications can be improved.

Overall: Percona Server For MySQL users are all over the world. An added level of stability is provided with the help of additional testing necessary for massive volumes of processing. It has many other features that provide high performance. Percona MySQL Server provides better performance, consistency, and scalability. When compared to MySQL it has a 50% improvement in performance.

Pros: One of the advantages it offers is the easy installation and the compatibility with MySQL databases. The tool facilitates the migration process in order to guarantee the maintenance of the applications.

Another important aspect is the possibility of monitoring and obtaining statistics on the operation of the database, considering different metrics with the aim of measuring query performance.

Cons: At the level of improvements, documentation for the end user and support for large databases could be improved.

Overall: Percona MySQL Server is a project that seeks to provide better performance, consistency and scalability, so that if we compare it with MySQL, we could have up to 50% improvement in performance.

Pros: Easy to use and install.

Cons: No cons, It works really well and performs great with security.

Overall: Percona Server For MySQL is used all over the world. It's doing additional testing which gives the added level of stability that we need for massive volumes of processing. It has other multiple features that provide high performance.

Pros: I personally loved the product and I am using it personally to develop my MySQL databases and to my work stuff.

Cons: I didn't find any cons yet with use cases. The server get slow a bit when you are hitting it multiple times simultaneously but that's an obvious lag.

Overall: The product is a great deal for the bucks we pay and there can be improvements in future but for now it does the job pretty well.

Pros: Percona server is best for database solutions. It is faster and safer than other servers. Working excellently with our applications.

Cons: There were lots of useful functions depending on what you wanted. It is a powerful tool with lots of inbuilt operations, and that could be quite overwhelming for a beginner.

Overall: Ever since I started to use this, I really liked it as it made my task easy. MySQL server offers advantages over other databases like the ease of use and advanced database functions and has the ability to handle complexity at the enterprise level. Percona Server is capable of monitoring MySQL in greater detail, capturing statistics that are otherwise hidden.

Pros: Easy to install and config Percona server software.
XtraDB engine which is a default one helps in storage purpose.

Cons: It would be great if the response time is lowered for Percona support tickets.

Overall: Great server to work on with added features compared to Oracle MySQL.
