CM starts Navratri rituals at Gorakhnath

Gorakhpur: The nine-day Sharadiya Navratri festivities commenced at the Gorakshapeeth with special rituals led by Peethadheeshwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday. Seeking the welfare of all, the CM performed kalash sthapana at the Shaktipeeth on the first floor of the Gorakhnath Math, amidst chanting of vedic mantras. The day concluded with the worship of Goddess Shailputri, along with Devi Paath and evening ‘aarti.'

Earlier, a grand ‘Kalash Shobhayatra' was carried out within the temple premises. Led by chief priest Yogi Kamalnath, saints and devotees marched with sacred urns to the Bhim Sarovar. After filling the urns with holy water and circumambulating the Sarovar, the procession returned to the Shaktipeeth. Recitations from the ‘Shrimad Devi Bhagwat' and ‘Durga Saptashati' were also performed. tnn
