With the Forum focused on The Spirit of Dialogue, conversations centred on practical challenges facing markets and institutions – from macro conditions and policy coordination to technology, productivity, and the future of work. Across the week, Barclays hosted and contributed to discussions including: 🔹Digital Currencies and the Future of Global Payments – with perspectives from Rosemary Stone of SWIFT and Gordon Y. Liao of Circle, examining how cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and central bank digital currencies could improve cross-border efficiency, and why progress will depend on regulatory clarity and coordination across jurisdictions. 🔹Barclays annual client dinner, in conversation with Gita Gopinath, on the global macro outlook and policy trade-offs ahead. 🔹AI, Robotics and the Future of Work – exploring how advances in physical AI and automation are moving from experimentation to deployment, with implications for productivity, labour markets and industrial strategy. 🔹Contributions across the wider Davos programme, including Stephen Dainton in a Greenwich Economic Forum fireside chat on global growth and capital flows and Khaled El Dabag on Gulf real estate investment dynamics with Binghatti.
