Your powerful ally

The AMA helps physicians build a better future for medicine, advocating in the courts and on the Hill to remove obstacles to patient care and confront today’s greatest health crises.

The meeting documents will be posted once available.

Contribute to LGBTQ+ Section policymaking efforts by submitting a resolution for consideration at the 2025 LGBTQ+ Section Interim Meeting. The resolution submission deadline was Aug. 7, 2025. Direct any questions to [email protected].

New to the policy-making process? Access our education module, How AMA Policy is Made, and learn how LGBTQ+ members influence the AMA's policymaking efforts.

Access the online member forum to review section resolutions. Beginning the week of Aug. 25, watch your email for an opportunity to review LGBTQ+ Section resolutions and vote on the actions that the section should take.

The LGBTQ+ Section addresses many important issues of interest to LGBTQ+ medical students, resident and fellows, LGBTQ+ physicians, patients and our straight allies.

Any AMA member who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, or who is an ally of the community, can become a member of the AMA LGBTQ+ Section. Join now.

Visit the education sessions page for session topics, speakers, times and CME opportunities.
