These petitions need your help to achieve victory.- Don't cut funding for PBS and NPR. Protect public broadcasting! The Trump administration has proposed eliminating all federal funding for National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), aiming to cut $1.1 billion from various programs. As NYT reports, if Congress agrees, that will amount to about two years of the organization’s funding, nearly all of which goes to public broadcasters including NPR, PBS and their local member stations. Public broadcasting plays a vital role in American society by offering educational content, in-depth journalism, and cultural programming that serves diverse communities across the nation. Federal funding is especially crucial for rural and underserved areas, where public stations rely heavily on this support to operate. We urge Congress to reject this proposal and protect public broadcasting. This move is part of a broader initiative to cut federal spending and has been met with criticism from those who value the educational and cultural programming provided by these institutions. For over 55 years, Elmo and his friends on Sesame Street have helped children grow in countless ways—encouraging language development, problem-solving, emotional awareness, empathy, creativity, and even early math skills. Through fun, diverse, and educational programming, PBS has supported generations of kids in learning about themselves and the world around them. Preserving their funding ensures that all Americans continue to have access to high-quality, non-commercial media that informs, educates, and enriches our democracy.Read more

84,188 Supporters - Petition to Strip Jon Jones of the Undisputed UFC Heavyweight BeltJon Jones is now the longest reigning champion in UFC heavyweight history and has only fought 2 times in that period. There is a clear interim champion, Tom Aspinall, who has defended his interim championship belt. Aspinall is ready to fight Jones. Jones refuses to fight him. Therefore, we as fans must let Dana White know: It is time to strip Jon Jones of the heavyweight title. He clearly has no intentions of fighting anytime soon. Read more

182,415 Supporters - Give Trump the Nobel Prize if he frees the hostages and ends the war in Gaza(Hebrew and Arabic text below) On October 7, 2023, Hamas brutally abducted 251 Israelis, 59 of whom are still being held hostage for over 1.5 years now, and counting. This has gone on for far too long. As the days go by, one sees the eyes of the hostages' family members lose more hope, their entire beings reflecting the devastation, as though they themselves are being held captive. In addition, the war in Gaza continues, with Israel wreaking unbearable and unbelievable havoc, causing alarming numbers of casualties from among Gaza's citizens, and denying them adequate food and humanitarian supplies. The fighting also lays an ever-growing burden on the people of Israel.Together with three Nobel Prize winning colleagues (Prof. Aaron Ciechanover, Prof. Ada Yonath and Prof. Avram Hershko), I recently sent a letter to President Trump, pleading with him to use his power, influence and leverage to bring the hostages home and end the war.We are not political figures. We are scientists and human beings. We recognize the suffering on both sides of this tragic conflict. But freeing the hostages is not a political issue, nor is putting an end to a terrible war. These are moral imperatives.Former President Joe Biden helped establish a framework for a ceasefire but apparently lacked the force to compel Israel’s leadership to act – something President Trump managed to do even before he took office. I believe he now has the will and determination to end this terrible saga, and I ask that you sign and share this petition urgently, to compel President Trump to act now, before more harm is done. President Trump: If you manage to secure a deal that will result in freedom for all the hostages and an end to the fighting in Gaza, we will proudly nominate you for the Nobel Peace Prize. This will not be done as a political statement, and the petition is aimed at Trump's supporters as well as at those who do not support him or his actions at all. Still, ending a terrible war and getting 59 abductees either back to their families or – for those who are no longer alive –to their final resting place, is a major act of life-saving and peace-leading humanity. Read more

2,382 Supporters - Recognize Pope Francis as a SaintPope Francis gave his life to the service of others. He chose humility over power, simplicity over status, and compassion over control. He walked with the poor, welcomed the outcast, and fought for justice across the globe. From climate action to LGBTQ+ inclusion to migrant rights, Pope Francis was a voice for the voiceless and a light for millions. Even when attacked by powerful critics, he stayed true to his mission of mercy, dignity, and radical love. This wasn’t just a papacy—it was a legacy of grace. Now, as the world mourns his loss, the best way to honor him is to make that legacy permanent. We’re calling on the Vatican to begin the process of canonization and declare Pope Francis a saint. His life changed the Church. Let’s make sure it changes history. Sign the petition if you believe Pope Francis should be recognized as a saint. [Photo Credit: Catholic News Service]Read more
