President Keller-Sutter to travel to Ireland for high-level talks and the opening of an exhibition
President Karin Keller-Sutter will travel to Ireland this week. On Thursday 29 May, she will attend the official opening of an exhibition at the National Museum in Dublin exploring the historic ties between Ireland and St Gallen during the early Medieval period. During her visit, she will hold talks with Ireland's President Michael D. Higgins, Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Micheál Martin and other members of the Irish government. Discussions will focus on bilateral relations, European policy and current international affairs. This marks the first visit by a Swiss president to Ireland since 2012.
Variable remuneration at Credit Suisse: the Confederation appeals to the Federal Supreme Court
The Federal Department of Finance is contesting the decision of the Federal Administrative Court (FAC), which found that the reduction or cancellation of variable remuneration for former members of Credit Suisse management was illegal. The FDF has decided to lodge an appeal with the Federal Supreme Court, which will make a final decision on the matter.
Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani Sadriu on a state visit to Switzerland
On 21 May, the entire Federal Council welcomed Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani Sadriu and her husband Prindon Sadriu with military honours in front of the Federal Palace for a state visit. The delegations then held talks on opportunities and prospects for the close and wide-ranging bilateral relationship. They also exchanged views on goals for European stability and prosperity, with particular focus on the situation in the Western Balkans.
