Our very own Dr. Colin Champ, radiation oncologist and head of the AHN Cancer Institute Exercise Oncology and Resiliency Center, recently conducted a study which found that high-intensity exercise after breast cancer surgery helps speed recovery. Dr. Champ recently presented results of his recent study to The American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) Annual Meeting and was featured in a U.S. News & World Report article. A Glimmer of Hope Foundation | The Symbol of the Cure recently provided an incredibly generous donation to launch their comprehensive "Mind, Body, Care" Breast Cancer Initiative within the AHN Cancer Institute. This amazing initiative provides expanded behavioral health support to mestatasic breast cancer patients across AHN, as well as contrast-enhanced mammography at AHN Allegheny General to provide enhanced imaging and reduced diagnostic delays. The donation also includes the distribution of Suzzi pads, which help to reduce side effects like neuropathy caused by chemotherapy, to breast cancer patients at five AHN Cancer Institute locations.
