Yesterday, the teachers became the students. During Professional Development Day, our faculty had the opportunity to learn from Lindsay Astor Grant, who led a session on executive functioning strategies for the classroom. It was an inspiring afternoon of reflection, learning, and practical tools that will support both teaching and student growth.

Curtis alum Leah M. '23 and Layla B. '23 used their Alumni Community Service Grant to bring care and comfort to new mothers at St. Francis Medical Center. They delivered baby essentials, served tea and snacks, and brightened the day for families in an underserved community.

Last week, during In-Service, our faculty and staff partnered with the amazing team from Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles to prepare over 300 meals and bake 600 chocolate chip cookies for those in need. It was a hands-on reminder of what it means to live with purpose, one of our core Curtis values, and to show others that they matter. A heartfelt thank you to OBKLA for helping us start the year grounded in service and connection.

We’re just one day away from the 2025-26 Back to School Picnic, and we’re celebrating by looking back at some favorite moments from over the years. From balloon animals to bluegrass bands, these snapshots are full of Curtis spirit. This year’s picnic is extra special as we kick off our 100th year.
