Technology transfer – Innovation by Max Planck
The Max Planck Society stands for excellent basic research, the results of which often lay the foundation for groundbreaking innovations.
Scientific findings are the key to progress – not only in research, but also in society and the economy. With Max Planck Innovation, we build bridges between ideas and applications – for tangible added value from science.
Patrick Cramer, President of the Max Planck Society
Max Planck Innovation (MI) is the central technology transfer organization of the Max Planck Society. It supports scientists in exploiting their research results—from invention disclosure to patent protection and licensing to the spin-off of start-ups.
Secured intellectual property (IP) is in most cases a prerequisite for successful technology transfer.
MI's mission is to translate scientific excellence into social and economic benefits. To this end, it creates the necessary networks and innovation ecosystems that enable successful technology transfer.
