With some guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on how well purpose and audience have been addressed. (Editing for conventions should demonstrate command of Language standards 1 3 up to and including grade 8 on page 52. Materials/Resources/Technology: Peer editing worksheets Teachers Goals:
The teacher will be able monitor her students writing process and step in if there are any major problems.

Start of Class: Pass back peer editing sheets Introduction of Lesson: Group 1: Students will be given a partner and a peer editing worksheet. They will read their partners essay and fill out the worksheet commenting on changes that should be made to better the essay. Group 2: Students will meet in the other room to discuss their PSA and complete their scripts and outline. Lesson Instruction: Groups will switch rooms and activities. Assessments/Checks for Understanding: A teacher will be in each classroom to monitor the activities and answer any questions. If multiple students are asking about a concept then the teacher will review quickly with the whole class. Closure/Wrap-Up/Review: The class will come back together and the teacher will explain the next step of the projects. Self-Assessment: This lesson will be a success if students use their classmates feedback in their next draft. This lesson need to be spread to 2 days because of time constraints.
