THEME : PHYSIOLOGY OF LIVING THING
TOPIC : COORDINATION AND RESPONSE
LEARNING OUTCOMES : 3.2
LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson
students were be able to understand response and
coordination.
SUCCESS CRITERIA(SMART):
Students will be successful if they can :1. State what a hormone is
2. State what the endocrine system is
3. State why the endocrine system is necessary.
4. State physiological processes not directly
regulated by nervous system
5. Describe how the endocrine complements the
nervous system
6. Label the main glands of the endocrine system
7. Name the main hormones produced by each
endocrine gland
8. State the functions of the hormones involved in
some physiological processes
9. Describe briefly how secretion of hormone is
regulated
LESSON OUTLINE :
INDUCTION
Student view a video of a boys growth .
ACTIVITY
1. Students carry out discussion how growth which is
a physiologycal process which is regulated by
hormones secreted by endocrine glands .
(menstrual cycle, developement of secondary
sexual characteristics)
2. Students discuss the necessity of endocrine gland
despite having nervous system and how it
complement each other.
3. Students label diagram of endocrine glands and
match the hormone secreted with their function
according to physiological processes
Reproduction
Growth
homeostasis
4. Students discuss how secretion of a hormone can
regulated by
Another hormone ex: TSH
Level of certain substances (glucose)
Nervous system
CLOSURE :
