This document provides a template for recording different versions of system items and their components. It includes fields to capture the project, item, new and old versions, parent item, effective date, reason for changes, list of components and their new/old versions, and preparer details. The purpose is to identify each item version along with its constituent components. If an item has no components, the same form can be used to record multiple item versions by modifying the component table.

HELP FOR VERSION REGISTER

Purpose A document that identifies a given version of a system alongwith the component
making up the items. The QR provides facility to record details of various
components making up the item. It also records the information about the Parent item
on which the current item is based. In the event an item has no components, then the
same copy of the QR can be used for recording multiple versions of the items by
modifying the “component” table.

Explanation of QR

1.       Project Name Name of the project as mentioned in Project initiation
note (QR011)
2.       Module Name Name of the Module in the project
3.       Item Id Unique identifier of the item
4.       Description Brief description of the item
5.       New version New version no of the item
6.       With effect from date Effective date
7.       Old version Version no in use prior to this new version
8.       Parent Item on which the current item is based
9.       Parent version No Version no of the parent item
10.   Library Library in which the item resides after issue of the
Version number
11.   Reasons if no more valid Reason if the item is no more Valid
COMPONENTS
12.   Sl No. Running serial number (within the quality record) of
the component making up the Item
13.   Component Id Unique ID of the component making up the Item. If
this column is entered, the Sub-Component Id column
below must be kept blank.
14.   Sub-Component ID Unique identifier of the sub-component making up the
Component. If this column is entered, the Component
Id column above must be kept blank.

15.   New Version Latest Version no of the component (if any)


16.   With effect from date Date from which the new version of the component is
effective
17.   Old Version Old Version no of the component which is getting
replaced by the new version.
18.   Reason if no more valid Reason if the component is no more a Valid
component of the Current (latest) Version of the Item.

19.   Remarks Reason for change of the Version
20.   Prepared By Name and signature of the person preparing the QR.
This is filled up by CM of the project.
21.   Date Date on which the QR is prepared
