Hydralazine

1) Hydralazine is a vasodilator that acts on vascular smooth muscle to cause vasodilation and reduce peripheral resistance, maintaining renal and cerebral blood flow. 2) It is indicated for hypertension and eclampsia. 3) Common adverse effects include headache, dizziness, palpitations, tachycardia, angina, hypotension, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Rare but serious effects include blood dyscrasias, hepatitis, and lupus-like syndrome.
