TERMINAL REPORT ON THE SCHOOL- BASED ENGLISH FESTIVAL OF TALENTS CULMINATING


ACTIVITY
MARCH 1, 2019

1. TITLE/THEME: Sustaining 21st Century and Inclusive Education to Improve


Communicative Competence through the Performance of Talents and
Skills

11. Rationale: Communication Arts aims to develop the four (4) macro skills (listening,
reading, writing, speaking) of each participants as well as their English
fluency and communicative Competence. The contested activities shall
enhance the multiple intelligences, higher order thinking skills, and intra
personal relationships among the participants and their teachers and
their advisers. Through the different contested events, they will be
able to cater the various learning styles.
111. OBJECTIVES:
1. To celebrate the school-based English Festival of Talents Culminating
activity.
2.To develop camaraderie and sportsmanship through the performance of
talents and skills
3. To promote collaboration and unity among students, faculty, and staff for a
sustainable inclusive education.

1V. HIGHLIGHTS OF ACTIVITIES/ACCOMPLISHMENTS


The proponents of the said activity prepared different learning activities that
caters to the multiple intelligences of the students that will help them develop or
enhance their skills in different areas.
On the first day of the month long activity, there was a spelling quiz bee
which was participated by the students from grades 7-12. The words to be spelled was
posted on the bulletin boards around the school for a week so that students will see
and familiarize themselves on the meaning of each word. Three sets of spelling quiz bee
were done. It was started on January 28, then on February 8 and the last set was done
during the culminating activity on March 1, 2019.
There were also different meaningful learning activities which were presented by
the students during the culmination of the said activity. Some of the activities were, the
group reading, scrabble, declamation, choral singing, solo, duet, oration, extemporaneous
speech, story telling, poem recitation and the culmination of the spelling bee. These
activities show the talents and skills of the students in the different presentations
they had done. These can also help the student to develop their communicative competence
as well as their intrapersonal relationship with each other.
Students did their best performance during the contest as well as their teacher-
adviser as their ever supportive coaches who guided the students on their presentations.

V11. PARTICIPANTS
Participants for the said activity were the students from the different grade
levels, the faculty and staff of TVS and visitors.

V111. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY


The activity was started with a spelling quiz bee on January 28. This was
participated by five representative of each grade level for both the Individual and
group category. On February 8 another set of spelling bee was conducted with
different student participants, then on March 1 was the culmination of the said
activity. During this time, all students were given the privilege to showcase their
talents. Different contested activities like Solo , Duet, Choral, Group reading ,
Oration, Poem Recitation, Poster making, Declamation, and extemporaneous speech
were all performed during the culmination day. All students and teachers enjoyed
the activity. The following Monday, all the results were announced during the flag
ceremony.

X. RECOMMENDATIONS/REMARKS

It is highly recommended that attendance of participants on activities like this will be strictly
monitored by the respective classroom advisers especially because they are the frontliners. The
success and failure of all school activities lies in the hands of the all the people involved in such
activities.
