The three weird sisters influence Macbeth's decisions and actions through their prophesies which creates mystery and fuels Macbeth's ambition. When the witches prophesize that Macbeth will become Thane of Cawdor and king, it plants a seed in Macbeth's mind that leads him to kill the king. The witches later appear again to Macbeth and give prophecies that further manipulate Macbeth's actions, like ordering the murder of Banquo. Their mysterious predictions ultimately drive the plot by causing Macbeth to make choices that work to both fulfill and circumvent the prophecies, leading to his downfall.

Mystery sense: At the very beginning at the play we can notice that when the three witches meet Macbeth and
Banquo. They created a mystery sense saying by “ Fair is foul and foul is fair” which forms the main action of the whole
drama.

Prophesies: When three witches meet Macbeth and Banquo, they prophesies that Macbeth will be the “ Thane of
Glamis” “ the Thane of Cowdor” “the king hereafter”. Of Banquo, He will be the begetter of a line of kings.

Information: After some times of conversation between Macbeth, Banquo and the witches he was informed by
Rosse and Angush about the conferment by king Dancan of the title “ Thane of Glamis”. After the first fulfillment he
begins to look forward the fulfillment of final prediction. As a result he develop the plot of this drama by killing one
after another for his ambition.

Recall: After becoming king, Macbeth recalls the witches’ prediction about Banquo that “ Banquo will be the begetter
of a line of kings”. Hence, Macbeth decides to kill Banquo and his son named Fleance so that the prophecy can not be
fulfilled. But he becomes able to kill only Banquo.

Dark and Stormy night: On a dark and stormy night, Macbeth wants some answer from weird sisters. Then
witches add more some elements to pot and three witches begin to appear in front of Macbeth. The first apparition
is an armed head which indicates that Macduff is coming back to ruin Macbeth. The second apparition is a bloody
child that indicates no man born of women can do him harm. The third apparition is a child wearing crown and holding
a tree. It tells Macbeth: Macbeth shall never be vanished until great Birnam wood come against him.

Circumvent: But there is a major shock waiting for Macbeth who can not take the meaning of last two
predictions. As a result he has been slain (killed) by Macduff according to the prophecies of three apparitions. Cause
Macduff comes to fight against Macbeth carrying branches of tree that seems like Birnam Wood. And he reveals on
the battlefield that he was removed from his mother womb prematurely by means of a surgical operation.

To conclude we may say that the decision and actions of Macbeth has been developed with the prophesy of witches.
Without their prophecies, there would be no tragedy. Thus the three witches developed the plot of this drama by
Macbeth’s actions.
