1. The engineer may require settlement tests from the time the sample is received until the asphaltic emulsion is used if the elapsed time is less than
5 days. Settlement tests may be waived when the asphaltic emulsion is used in less than 5 days.
2. The 24-hour storage stability test may be used instead of the 5-day settlement test.
NOTES:
3. The demulsibility test must be made within 30 days from date of shipment. Use 35 ml, 0.02 N CaCl2 solution.
4. A harder base asphalt in compliance with the paving asphalt specifications may be specified if the test requirements on the residue from distillation
are waived.
