INTRODUCTION
The EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PROGRAMME aims for promoting
professional skills and knowledge through hands on experience, building
confidence and ability to work in project mode and acquire enterprise
management capabilities. Experiential learning programme has been
introduced at Bachelor degree with the specific objective of learning by
hands-on participation, by trying, making errors, and gradually narrowing
the margin between failure and success. Work-based experiential learning
through agricultural-related supervised experiences provide practical, real-
world experiences in agriculture, develop a positive work ethic, and meet
realistic occupational expectations.
The concept of experiential learning follows a cyclic pattern of integrated
learning from Experience through Reflection and Conceptualizing to
Action and on to further Experience. The cyclic pattern of learning is,
therefore, constituted of four steps i.e. (i) basic instruction on what student
will be learning, (ii) delivery of critical content of the chosen subject of
learning, (iii) hands on training or learning by doing and (iv) integration of
what is accomplished during hands on training including marketing of the
end product of learning for economic benefit. In the latest revision of UG
curricula, the emphasis is given not only on new and emerging areas but
also shifting the focus from 'know-how' to 'do-how' so that the
undergraduates, after coming out of the universities should become “ job
providers rather than job seekers”. The programme has provided a very
good platform for students with an approach of “Learning by Doing” and
“Seeing by Believing” and gives a new direction to the undergraduate
programme which will develop thinking, skillful, expert, manager, human
resource in the area of agriculture, veterinary, horticulture, forestry and
other allied disciplines. The EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
PROGRAMME is offered for one semester in the final year.
OBJECTIVES OF ELP:
To promote professional skills and knowledge through hands on
experience.
To build confidence and ability to work in project mode.
To acquire enterprise management capabilities.

CONCLUSION
Covid 19 pandemic has changed the whole world scenario. Lockdown is
imposed in our country and all the states. Covid 19 has badly affected the
whole society our health, crop production as well as our education system
also. The institutional education has been stopped, all the universities are
closed, the whole education systems has been converted into online platform.
Our E.L.P. programme schedule was FEB’21 TO JULY’ 21 but due to covid, it
was also delayed. Our respected sir Prof A.B. SHARANGI and respected
mam Dr JAYOTI MAJUMDER are our course instructors of E.L.P.
programme. They organised all the activities of E.L.P. programme by online
medium such as google meet.
They provided us with various types of power point presentations covering
different important aspects of horticulture to gain knowledge with those
presentations.
So Covid has created many of constraints to us but we had converted this
crisis into opportunity as ‘NEW NORMAL’. We explored many things during
doing those presentations, which were very much helpful to acquire
knowledge about different aspects of horticulture science which helps us to
increase our skill and secure our future. So we are very grateful to our sir and
madam, Dean Sir and other teachers to get a chance to explore ourselves
and our subjects in a scientific manner.
THANKING YOU,
ALL THE STUDENTS OF 8TH SEMESTER
