Very good. Food chain is a linear
sequence of organism through
which nutrients and energy pass as
one organism eats another. Lets
look at the parts of a food chain, Yes teacher.
starting from the bottom from the
producer and moving upward.

Next is the secondary consumers.
Secondary consumers are the meat
eater or the carnivores. I want

Next stage is the tertiary
consumers. Tertiary consumers are
the carnivore eating carnivores like
eagles or big fish. I want jevlyn to
come in front and be the tertiary
consumer.

eaten by lacey that is the mollusks
the primary consumer and mannie
will eat lacey as the sculpin fish the
secondary consumers, which will be
eaten by a larger fish chinook
salmon a tertiary consumer.
Each of this categories are called
trophic level. Its reflect how many
transfer of energy and nutrients.
There is another kind of consumers
they are the decompioser. It does
not always appear in drawing of
food chains because food chain is a
simple representation only.
Decomposer are sometimes
considered their own trophic level. (children will participate)
They eat dead matter and waste
product that come from organism
at various other trophic levels, for
instance they consume decaying
plants, the body of a half-eaten
squirrel or the remains of a
deceased eagle. The decomposer
level runs parallel to the standard
hierarachy of primary, secondary
and tertiary consumers. Example
are the fungi and bacteria.

Food chain is just a simple
presentation of how energy and
nutrients transfer. Now lets tackle
the more complex diagram or
representation of who eats and
whose been eaten by whom.
Organism sometimes eat multiple
types of prey or be eaten by
multiple predators. To represent
these relationship more accurately
we can use a food web.
Food web is a graph that’s show all
the trophic eating related
interactions between various
species in an ecosystem.
This the example of a food web.

orange, secondary consumers in
blue and tertiary consumers in

is cut and construct your own food
chain the first group to fish will
