WORK METHOD STATEMENT FOR TEXTURE PAINTING

OBJECTIVE:

The objective of this method statement is to carry out the TEXTURE PAINTING work by
meeting the technical specification and complying with Standards.

SCOPE:

The scope of this method statement includes TEXTURE PAINTING works at ITC Infotech –
Green Center project while executing, it in accordance with technical specifications.

TOOLS AND TACKLES:

 Sandpaper
 Scrapper
 Appropriate Roller Sponge
 Flat Brushes
 Wall Sander
 Mixing paddle
 Mixing Tray
 Rug Cloth/Cotton Cloth

MATERIAL USED:

 Approved Putti
 Approved Primer
 Texture Paint

 Induction to all the personnel involved by Vendor safety manager.


 Issue of a permit by PMC
 Use of appropriate PPE.
 Barricading if required
 Prevention of use of any hazardous material
 Appropriate supervision

PROCEDURE:

General:

 Ensure Material approval prior to start work


 Ensure approved drawing available prior to start of work
 Take clearance from services (MEP) before start of work if required
 Ensure necessary safety precautions are in place prior to start.

Acrylic paint:

 Clean the surface for dust and loose particles


 Apply one coat of approved primer
 After drying of primer apply first coat of putty
 After drying of first coat of putty sand it properly using sanding paper
 Apply second coat of putty
 After the putty dry, sanding will be done properly
 After sanding apply the primer
 Use textured paint spray to apply the textured finish. Pour Texo compound in a
suitable bucket or paint pail and dilute with the necessary amount of water to make
it sprayable.
 To get a well-mixed paint, use proper mixing technique. To achieve the desirable
result, use a slow-speed handheld drill machine.
 To avoid paint splashing, make sure that the adjacent elements (e.g., glass,
aluminum, and cladding) are adequately covered and protected.
 Apply Pre-final on the texture paint finish; however, make sure that the textured
paint is completely dry and past its curing period. This consists of 6 to 8 hours in
most cases, as per manufacturer’s recommendations
 When the pre-final paint is ready, the succeeding coat, which is the Final Paint. can
then commence and complete the system.
 One coat of Sealer to be applied over a finished textured paint after dried up for 24 to
48 Hours

RESPONSIBILITIES.

 Construction Manager: He shall be responsible for overall management of


construction activities.
 Site Engineer: He shall be responsible for Executing in safe work method as per
Drawings and guide the supervisors and work men.

 QA/QC In charge: He shall be responsible for ensuring the quality of work &
materials as per the Specifications and standards.
 HSE Manager/Engineer: He shall be responsible for assisting to
engineer/supervisor to ensure the safety of workers during the progress of work.
 Safety inductions of each staff and workers shall be done and daily PPE check to be
done and toolbox talk shall be carried out before the start of work. General
safety awareness as well as safety precautions and guidelines for activity to be
carried out in that day shall be discussed.
 Stores officer: He shall be responsible for storing of all materials. Also responsible
for maintaining the record of incoming and outgoing and up to date stock details of
materials.
